Where is everyone?

The title says it all. During summer days, the server is a pain to get in usually.

Now, it's currently 16 players and the player count has never been this low (and conviniantly the player counter is broken?).

What's happening to our Beloved BGTSCC and its population?

Everyone is behind the scene's testing in Rasael's module to help get the bugs out for a quick implementation of all his great content? :)

Also, another server just opened up...that may have something to do with it as well.

That should be worrying someone.

You beat me to it.... I was just about to make a poll to try and gauge why players have been so scarce, but I suppose this will do ;)

In a nutshell? I would surmise the low population to be a result of a combination of things: Summer time, numerous long-time players either playing on alts, retiring their characters, or going absent in general, player disinterest(possibly due to hardly ever seeing RP buddies online), player disgruntlement(I will not be specific as to why I say this), and interest in other servers(I believe 3 other servers were hovering around 40 players last night while BG was at 18-20). Then again, what do I know?

Hmm, that's a big nutshell. :?

If you're talking about Realm of Darkness, I've been playing there on and off for about a month.

For me it's interesting because of the mature Underdark theme (without being a "social" server like Haven) - which feels refreshing after trying to play an authentic Underdark game without breaking bgtscc's family friendly pg-13 rating.

Though like any server, RoD still has issues, including being new, balance problems (Dragon Disciples) and the mature and dark themes aren't for everyone.

*nods* A rather big one too, almost mandatory for folks to be outside :)

I saw population of 7 last year, once or twice.
Just log on in the middle of week at the noon, EU time, and you'll see exactly this kind of thing.
It was happening reliably enough.

Holidays/summer are definitely contributing to the lull, no doubt, but server activity has been steadily dropping off over the last 2 + weeks. Personally speaking, I went from hardly having any time to catch up with/fit in all the RP coming my way a month ago, to presently being nearly unable to find any familiar faces or RP in general on my main... heck, I even had to resort to finding other elves to Rp with it's so slow! *shudder* ;)

Welcome to the club. When I had this problem last year (roughly at the same time of year), most people didn't believe it.

Wait for the winter. Or log on during weekends at USA evening, there's usually influx of people expecting DM event. If there are still weekly DM events.

Ive been away several months I think now. Been thinking of playing again these past couple of days.

There is some new content soon to hit?

I agree. Its most likely because of summertime, lack of new content, chainreaction of missing RP buddies.

I also tried Realm of Darkness some weeks ago and stopped immediately when i saw Menzo bazaar build with human houses.
