Background: Raised in Amn as the third son of a minor noble/major merchant, Durzo was trained in arms from an early age. His oldest brother received the inheritance, his second brother joined the priesthood of Helm, and he was bought a Knighthood in the Order of the Knights of the Shield, an organization that is both a Knightly Order and merchanting association. (More info in the 3.5 Lords of Darkness book). He has come up to Baldur's Gate area seeking adventure, fame and fortune.
Outlook: Durzo has a fine sense of humor, seeing the black side of most things and being the type to laugh at it. He admires those who pursue scholarly ways, but does not have the patience himself. He has adventured with many people of differing races, which is how he became such a linguist, but he sees them as individuals and is quite willing to be prejudiced against whole races.
