You guys really need to tweak the random item generator to come up with names which are not stupidly funny or which don't make any sense. When you end up with items with names like (Mace of Bane's Smelly Fart) or (Belt of Impotent Manhood) it just gets too comical lol.

Forget about it. Do you have any idea how many item names there are in that random loot generator? Then you have to think about what is still so horridly broken on the engine itself that names are really trivial since you can rename the item yourself with the renaming widget you are given in your inventory.

True but still... there is never a reason to find a mace called (Mace of Bane's Smelly Fart). It upsets immersion and while funny is childish.

Though I would say Mace of Bane's Smelly Ass would have been funnier lol.

Immersion? What is that? Is that like being a method actor? I am pretty sure people go crazy doing that.......

Immersion as in it would be impossible to find such a named item in the FR setting. Forging a weapon and naming it something that overtly insults a greater god of evil is something only a soon to be dead chaotic neutral would do. Bane would prob be offended by the implication that his farts/ass stink and would smite the person on the spot.

I love the word impossible when used with an imaginary realm............It just tickles me funny bone it does!

Personally, I'd much rather have the staff focusing on adding new content or fixing some of the existing issues that plague the poor old NWN2 engine.


As for items I plan to keep for my own character, I enjoy renaming them and adding my own personal flavour text to the descriptions - it's quite fun and makes it easier for me to give a consistent description of my characters jewelry, armour, weaponry or clothing

... that, and some of the item names are just hilarious fun.
