I have a doubt about some of the spellcasting feats. Particularly, about the ones like Fiery Burst, Acidic Splater, Invisible Needle, etc. They say that as long as you have a spell of X lvl or higher avaible to cast you can cast Y.

My question is: does this consume the spell required? One example to clarify: if a caster has Fiery Burst and 5 Fireballs avaible, after "casting" Fiery Burst, does (s)he have 4 or 5 Fireballs avaible.

It does not consume the spell in question, you can continue casting for as long as you have a minimum of one spell of that type memorized.

The idea is to offer some sustainability to casters.

fiery burst is the only one good in later levels... ...the rest of them don't have high level spells to reserve.

(D&D loves fire much more than the other elements, for some reason, the fire spells generally seem to do more damage and have better after effects)

Now I wonder something else... Can these feats be used with Empower/Maximize/Quicken metamagics?
