Finally got my wife to play she has never really played dnd but she always liked pet classes so I made her a druid plus druids are pretty straight forward(no multiclass, and easy feat picks).

Question now is rp wise who would travel with a Druid Aasimar. Ranger of course but who else? I'm leaning towards trying to finally get my Priest of Mystra to epics but other then also being an Aasimar why would I travel with a druid.

Several reasons!

Mystraean priests teaches that magic should not be used frivolously or bring harm to others. That seems to be something a druid could wholeheartedly agree with it. Stop burning down forests with needless fireballs!

As for the reason as to why you would go with her, Mystraen priests always seeks to learn new magic. What could be more diverse from your practice than that of druidic magic?

Ontop of that, it's easy for you to divide the spoils amongst you. You want all the archaic lore and magical items you can find, a druid seems less interested in such.

You're both Aasimars, you're both apart from the vast population of human. I think that's an RP element I'd like to see much more frequently amongst such races... You are one of the lucky ones, who have found a fellow celestial blooded companion! :)

If you need more reasons I can probably think of some... But I think that's a good start at least. I hope you and your wife will have a wonderful time here. Feel free to ask more questions if you feel the need :)

Considerate_ brings up good points. I really like the desire to learn more about druid magic as a reason to travel with a druid.

And yeah, if your character focuses on the part of Mystra's dogma that talks about restraint, that might go well with a druid's emphasis on neutrality.

Or maybe the wizard follows the druid just because she knows where to find food easily? :D

The point with Mystran clergy is that they can easily find reason to travel with any practitioner of magic. Mystra isn't the deity of wizards - that would be Azuth. Mystra is the deity of magic. And all magic, whether divine or arcane or just a spell-like ability, mortals use has to come through the Weave, which is what Mystra is the embodiment of.

So in interest of spreading the teachings of Mystra to other spellcasters even if it's not to actually convert, is still a very viable path to take.

Ranger you've already touched upon, of course. What other classes and characters might work well with a druid depends a bit on what kind of druid it is. What is its alignment? Which deity does the druid have as its patron?

For instance, a neutral evil druid of Umberlee may well be teamed up with some kind of pirate.

A neutral evil druid of Auril could easily be friends with a frost mage wizard or sorcerer or even a warlock pacted with Auril (I think she grants pacts, as an archfey?) or some other evil fey serving her.

A neutral good druid of Eldath might go well with various paladins or other righteous characters, particularly those who revere Ilmater.

Great replys guys, iv always been drawn to the Mystra dogma and that would work very well only issue that may rise is I'm a Paladin/Sorc so I'm Lawful Good my wife is Chaotic Neutral(I had to explain the alignments to her and my CN are just as likely to jump off the bridge then to cross it struck her good)

Way thinking is I'm Lawful to the dogma of Mystra which like you said is restraint my Aasimar friend doesn't know restraint that we'll as a druid so I'm there to reel her in.....hmm liking it so far.
