Best place to lv...

Unread post by V'rass »

So I have reached 13 and wish to get to 15 tonight... where would be the best place to go to do that and where should I go after 15 is reached? Already know about xvarts and wyverns but what else is there?

If you need gold, I think you can keep running in the gnolls>trolls>goblins circle up to level ~15? The chests in those places should still be available to you (lions path and tradeway north of beregost). I might be wrong though, it's been a while.

More interested in xp then gold... I know it may take years to reach 30 but I would like to at least reach 20 within the next few weeks/months.

Gnolls and the orc cave are good for lvl 13 if you have the armor class to handle them. The bugbears can be handled by a strong 13th level toon as well.

If you REALLY want to level fast, I recommend hooking up with a large group and going to the xvarts. There are tons of those little blue wierdos and at lvl13 they should give a good amount of XP. Make sure you have plenty of folks, though. They can be deadly to lower level toons. Don't go by yourself or with only one other. I would say 4-5 is a good safe number if you are all around 13-15.

Also, don't worry. If you play fairly regularly it won't take year to hit 30. A dedicated player can do it in a matter of months and a casual one should do it easily in half a year. Partying up is the key to good xp. It is safe and you kill things so much faster.

If you can find a strong group of LV15-19 players to do hill giants with I'd say that's maybe the quickest

That and Xvarts

Stack up on lesser restoration potion (or even better if you have access to death ward) and go to the deepest part of Cloakwood, right outside the haunted house. Treants and phase spiders all around, with decent respawn rate and good xp. Basically no loot though aside from an occasional drop and spider parts that you can turn into gold/lesser resto pots. Best thing is, phase spiters come to you! (which is a bad thing I guess if you are an archer  ) Just be careful with treants, if there's 2 of them or more they can sometimes spam knockdown.

edit: chad beat me to it.

Totally forgot about west cloakwood. This area is especially nice for toons with steadfast determination and enough fort to never fail the save vs poison.

Same is true for the basilisks at Durlag's Tower. Their petrification is only DC 16 iirc, so with Steadfast and enough Fort it is a good area for leveling.

Hill giants is probably best if you have a strong enough party. If not then xvarts or thunders ride.
