drow words refering priests

Unread post by freekender »

My doubts are about the use of the following drow words:
Yath'abban = Priestess in training
Yathrin = Priestess
Yath'tallar = High priestess
Can they be used in the following situations?:
1) Non-drow Gods/Goddesses
2) Male priests
3) Favoured Souls
4) Non-drow priests

Thanks in advance!
Myrualae - Chantress of Doron Amar
Snow - Sorcery and carrots!
Gomez de Aguirre - The Fabulous Knight of the Mystic Fire
Uelaereene Sai'zzel - Once I saw the stars...
Lilly Sai'zzel - Stormy snowflake
And more...

This is the answer to your questions as best as I know them - I can't be a 100 % sure as it's been some time since I read up on my drow lore.

1) Not exactly no. A Yathrin is specifically a drow priestess of Lolth, whereas a Yathril is a priestess of Eilistraee.
2) Male priests are m'thain
3) Favoured souls and clerics are not necessarily priestesses - a priestess is someone who is affiliated with the church of Lolth. You can be a cleric, without being a priestess... most drow would facepalm at them unless they were a Matron, but there you have it ;)
4) No

I hope that answered your question, you can use this link for help on some drow words:
