Re: Play Star Citizen for free and get some free stuff
While I'm more then willing to pay for a monthly subscription to a game I truly enjoy (Eve Online), I'm not sure I'm at all willing to pay the kind of money they're wanting for some of these ships.
I'm goin' to try out the program with the code you gave me, but my first impression so far from just looking over the page isn't good.
The provider asking for four hundred bucks ($400!!!) for a ship means two things to me:
1.) Pay to Win mentality, or simply expecting people to be stupid...
and
2.) There's some complete nitwits out there that have far more money then they do sense. Which may or may not mesh with 1.) above.
Nonetheless, I'm downloading and will take a look.
Thanks for the heads up. I'd heard a lot about this program.

Re: Play Star Citizen for free and get some free stuff
It is not Pay to Win , you can and will be able to get any ship[ ingame relatively much easier then you can in EVEOnline comparatively for the price/time investment.
The game is more of a role playing game, in that you play whatever role you want.
It is also a Pay to Own videogame, once you have the game there is no monthly fee.
There will of course be insurance for ships, people know it might take an average of an hour or so to make the money ingame it would cost to pay for insurance, which is and has been promised to be relatively cheap, comparatively to what people fear. The reason we're spending money on it, is, well, we just love Chris Roberts. Its been what, over a decade and a half since such a talented game developer/producer has been out in the large. He has always been known for doing much more with much less, and has always been regarded as a gifted developer.
Playing the game is fun. Of course, if you never give it a shot, when you can absolutely do so for free, right now, then you might not have as much reason to say anything negative about it as you might think. Each to their own of course. My toons in EveOnline still has roughly 4Tillion isk. If anyone recalls, (some of you who knew me) I partly ran .-A-. for a few years, and was a banker with Somer.Blink, and a rent collector for catch and tenerifis and immensea, I worked third parties almost along side Chribba for years, for most the larger blocks when it came to their titans, mainly because me and ozzy and percules and perseus were building about 20+ a month of them. I bought my house, my car, paid my wifes wedding ring, and all my bills, from the money I made RMTing in EVEonline. My toon, Alezka once made the front posts in 2009 when I spent 2.4 Trillion isk on a whim to wardec a few alliances buying out most of the larger blocks at the time.
I made nearly a quarter million dollar in real life, from scratch, playing eve, for the first 8 years. I know EVEOnline, you can cry about how bitter vet you are anyday, ive been there I've done that, I had over 50+ accounts banned in the last few years, I've lost more on each one of those accounts, then probably anyone here will everhave had in eveonline. So who gives a crap about EVEonline. I'm still rich, and my toons are sync and PLEX for over a decade more, yet I couldn't care less to even log on every week.
PLay Star Citizen, if you like roleplaying. Test Squadron is a gaming community and has no affiliation anymore with TEST in EVEOnline (we're actually about 2-3x the size of TEST in EVEOnline. We're almost at 8,000 members right now)
Star Citizen is kind of like playing Pulsar, when playing with a few friends, because of all the multicrew features. So, its a great game to be co-op with afew people you know.
Some of us, gather in 5 man groups and play Pulsar to practice some of our tactics and brevity, then we go racing, or dog fighting in the arena commander, to shape our flying skills, then theres various FPS's we can play for the other fixes. Most of what is coming out for starcitizen will be released this year, all the hype is because we've been anticipating quite alot, based on what they've shown us at CitCon 2015 and Gamescon 2015 this year.
I am also relatively sure, if you have the mind to think money, assets, and want to grow rich, deeply wish it above all else - you will and can do it. I bet you could even live off some of the money you make playing StarCitizen, I know some of my guys are making 1500$ a month now from Twitch donations for their feeds. They started with a 35$ pledge, just like anyone else.
plus you can already rent stuff ingame as it is, I have pretty much a collection of everything from just renting stuff with the "REC" I get (a form of virtual make belief currency in the arena commander modules).
The mini-PU (persistant universe) is scheduled for release soonish this year, and it will have hours upon hours of content, missions and tons of ships and multicrew stuff, and endless possibilities for emergent behavior and gaming.
ALSO - like NWN/NWN2 you can create your own world, your own PW.
THIS IS WHY I BELIEVE IN IT !!!!
This is why you should give it a chance too !

Re: Play Star Citizen for free and get some free stuff
Oh I see a few of you tried the free week thingy, congrats and welcome to StarCitizen, whats silly is it won't let me contact you guys on RSI forum until accounts are created and confirmed.
But anyways, cool to see some of you guys in Star Citizen, I know some of you are with me in Test Squadron, I also see a few of you in ADI too, too bad they don't allow contact without members outside of their guild :S (Never agreed with that sort of thing)
Anyways, Game on!
