Background:
Omar was born an albino in Sammarach, Chult. He was raised in a relatively normal household, within the city. He always had an affinity for animals, and in his youth he would often befriend small critters he would within Sammarach. As he became older, he developed a strong rebellious streak, and eventually ended up fleeing from his home, into the jungle. He studied the land, and used his knowledge to hunt and kill his own prey. At first he was reluctant, abhorring the idea of killing another being, however, snakes were another story. He of course knew of the Yuan-ti, the enemy of his people, and had no reservations about killing snakes, as this was a bonafide requirement for living in Sammarach. He managed to catch many snakes in the wild jungle, as they were plentiful, and he eventually developed a taste for snake flesh. After surviving in the jungle, along with a pet lizard he acquired, he stumbled across a kindly man. The man looked and acted youthful enough, but he spoke in a manner befitting an older gentleman, his words practically oozed experience and wisdom. Omar, after studying the man for a few moments recognized the man as one of Sammarach's healers, and a trainer of hunting beasts. Omar, having not seen another person for many months was eager to stay in the man's company, speaking to the man of his adventures in the jungle, and his "escape" from his family in Sammarach. The man seemed to understand him, and offered to take Omar under his wing, revealing to Omar that he was a druid, and that he thought Omar had the makings of a fine druid as well. Omar was taken aback by this chance, having heard of druids before, but never meeting one. He gratefully accepted, and followed the man to Sammarach. The man taught Omar of the druidic ways, he taught him of various lands, their druids, and different druidic philosophies. After many years, Omar was sworn in as a druid of Ubtao, proving himself to be somewhat of a prodigy to the druidic ways. Omar helped the man with both his duties to Sammarach as a healer, as well as training animals to hunt and kill. Omar himself took quite a liking to the latter duty, spending much time with animals. He learned to wildshape, to better understand the animals he spent so much time with. Eventually, Omar bid his teacher good-bye, and set out to find his own path.
Omar found himself quite facinated with the people of Sammarach. He dwelled among them for some time, offering himself for odd jobs here and there. Eventually, one thing lead to another and he landed himself a job working as a courtesan. He, despite having an uncomfortably direct way with people at times, and confidence issues of his own, did reasonably well in this occupation, as he was able to convince and reason with people, as well as make good conversation. He was not the best looking man in the world, and would often use his prowess with shapeshifting to change minor portions of his body, and he would use make-up to cover any imperfections he acquired in the jungle up. Despite these flaws, he made good coin for himself, and was able to secure a decent living. He eventually ended up with a client he would get to know quite well; a lonely noble-woman from Sammarach. She paid him to take her out many times, often buying his time for tendays on end. Omar began to grow uncomfortably attached to her, and had to remind himself often to not get too close to her. Eventually, his confidence issues waned at his performance, as well as his attachment to her, and he accidentally forced a kiss upon her during a public event. To save face, the married noble ordered him to be arrested for forcing himself upon her. He spent several nights in the cell, before he was approached by a group of strange men, all wearing white armor, stamped with the crest of a flaming fist. He was knocked out, and placed in a sack, then taken from his cell. When he awoke, he was on a trade ship, which he was told was bound for Baldur's Gate.
He learned that the mercenaries whom had "freed" him from his cell were mercenaries from the city of Baldur's Gate, members of the flaming fist. They were hired by the same noble-woman he had served to take him far away from Sammarach, to Baldur's Gate, so that he might live free. As the ship sailed from the island of Chult, he could hear the voice of his lord Ubtao growing fainter and fainter. He was in a period of distress for several long months, as he tried to pray to his lord, but gained no response. Eventually, after his first year on the ship, he heard a new voice. A male voice, coming from the ocean as it lapped at the ship's hull. The voice told him in a dispassionate tone that to quell his tears, he need only offer his prayers to the Water Lord, Istishia. He was so thankful for this voice, he began to pray eagerly. He prayed for many moons, and found his strength returning, the sound of the wild once again resonating within him. Upon arriving at Baldur's Gate, he was revitalized, and stepped off the ship, a new man. A devout of his savior, Istishia. A druid of the Water Lord. He immediately moved to the local library, so as to learn all he could of what was known about his savior-deity, and how he must serve Istishia. He discovered a seeress dedicated to the Water Lord, and learnt under her the ways of Istishia, as well as his mission as a follower of the Water Lord. After a few years, he took these leanings and combined them with his druidic teachings, swearing a new druidic oath under Istishia, before moving to Soubar to act as a healer and a priest there.
