Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

So awhile back a player told me a story about how he accidentally deleted an item when he unequipped it with a full inventory. At the time I remember thinking how on earth do people even get full inventories, I mean you get 4 giant pages! Fast forward to today, I totally lost track of how many people I adventured with in a row. Running around Durlag's spacing out I realized my main weapon was gone from my bar all of a sudden?? I open my inventory and am horrified that it's completely full(first world problems I know)!

So next I look for something to screenshot and send to DM's since clearly the weapon is stuck in limbo, sadly I couldn't prove anything. So I'm sitting there wondering how dumb I could be to lose a 200k weapon in such a silly manner when suddenly I get a message.

The player Charraj asking me if I dropped an axe! Apparently it doesn't disappear, it just automatically drops on the ground. I was about to log off in annoyance and here this player messages me, assuming it was mine. I was the only other person in the area but he/she could've easily rationalized that someone else might've dropped it and took off.

It's encouraging to still run into quality people with integrity on the internet. Many thanks to Charraj for being a great person.

I am glad to hear that you had such a positive experience with this as well.

I have generally found that our server at this time is the most ethical Internet gaming community that I have ever been involved with. Thank you, our wonderful players, QC staff, dev staff, and DMs, for making it so.

I think Ultima Online circa 1998-2000 was the least ethical online game setting in my experience on the other hand! Scamming, griefing, and exploiting, oh my.

You did get luckily, Charraj is one of the best

Sometimes I forget how lucky we are to have such a great community. Then I play a game of DOTA and it all comes rushing back to me!

PS: I did see someone walking around with "Found gear msg me if you lost something" Maybe this was the same incident?

it's happened to me as well i was running quests and my inventory got full from picking up well forgotten junk ((basic items that can cause lag)) and i thought that my sword had glitched away nope, it was dropped it restores my faith in humans for that some people can be so thoughtful and caring about big time gear.

also makes me with i had a magic pouch with no weight reduction and like 30 slots

If Charraj gave it back to you, have you had it examine for hidden curses or possible anomalies that might trigger? I mean for all we know, your very essence could be used to unify the planes into a big chaotic ion soup of raw magical energy. *nods firmly*

These kinda niche games and their communities usually, by my experiences, have so many amazing people, which makes it worth coming back to/sticking around for. And what Dialectic said, id like to second.

And on that note, ill put on my headset and take a round of Counter Strike to observe the depravity which our race can fall to.

you don't even have to go to counterstrike to see depravity all you need to watch is someone playing GTA online it sad when your all pointing guns at each other becuase you don't know who to trust

Hate to say it, but lost a pair of +4 Dodge Boots in the nexus when the new log re-equip script went live and I had a full inventory. Lol, I never saw them again

Personally, I remember the people who visited the reagent shops, and bought a stack (999) of a reagent they couldn't carry, and it dropped to the ground at their feet.

Then again, there's also the bank gold piles of 60,000 gp, that if you didn't place it JUST RIGHT in the bank, it would also drop at your feet.

There were a lot of fights over those...oy.

Charraj is somehow to blame for your weapon getting lost in the first place. It's probably cursed now, better to dispose of it immideately

The overall maturity and friendliness of players on this server is astounding. Easily, this is one of the nicest communities I've ran into online in a long time.
