Amber Gambell & Maximo Bloodwright
Posted: Sun Nov 15, 2015 8:20 pm
First Name: Amber
Last Name: Gambell
Appearance:
Amber is a shorter human female that is plainly average looking. She is generally outfitted in a Breastplate of some sort with her hair decorated and down, wrapped to one side of her neck. Occasionally she will dorn a simple robe while meditiating. In her left hand is a medium sized shield, and in her right a clean scimitar. While out adventuring she is often seen with her animal companion, Clair the Bear. Clair is a generic bear in looks with the exception of a small ribbon tied loosly around her neck. It would have any recent flowers Amber has found placed into the knot on the top side of her neck, making the bear look absolutely adorable (in Ambers opinion, anyways). She is nearly always seen with Maximo Bloodwright in tow as well (read below for information regarding him).

Background:
A daughter of a family that had just fallen from Nobility, she was set to marry a family friends son, Jack Sanders, a lower noble in an attempt to bring her own families status back. Amber knew of this man from several classes they had together and knew he was nothing but a bully and couldn't stand the thought of marrying such a man. She protested to her father who simply tossed her worries aside, being more interested in a chance at regaining his previous status.
In response to her Fathers decision, she decided to run away from Baldur's Gate in an attempt to find a new and better life. After sneaking out of her room at night with nothing but a semi-formal dress and leaving Baldurs Gate she had an unfortunate run-in with a band of thugs who expected her to have money due to her attire. She was told to give them her money, but she confessed that she had none. The Thugs began yelling louder, calling her a liar and accused her of stealing from the poor. One of which drew their sword and moved forward saying, "If ye ain't got no money, Misses, It'll be yer 'ead!" Amber screamed and covered herself with her arms sure that her life was over, but heard the sound of metal hitting metal. She looked up to see a man in plate armor holding a greatsword over her, protecting her.
He looked down towards her, smirking, before turning towards the group of Thugs. She recognized the mans face as Maximo Bloodwright, her childhood friend. His family had served the Gambells for generations, until her father had no way of paying the additional money that Maximo's father had asked for back when she was 15 years of age. Shortly after the Bloodwrights began to serve the Sanders, the same family she was to be married into. That was the last time she had seen Maximo before this.
Maximo shoved the Thugs blade he had parried and began walking towards the Thugs as Amber sat there and watched, crying. Maximo brought his greatsword up, and the thug raised his own sword up ready for it saying, "'Ey boys, Gettim!". Maximo swung it down with a *Woosh* and then the sound of metal hitting metal, a crunching noise of metal found flesh and bone, a scream, and finally the sound of metal clanking against the stones.
Amber sat quietly and watched as she saw the Thug that had attacked her fall to the ground, dead. She looked at the mans face in horror, as this was the first time she had actually seen death. The mans face had a scar across his cheek and his eyes were blank but looking straight at her. His mouth open with a short stream of blood trailing down to the stones from it.
Time seemed to have fly for Amber in the next minutes as she cried, the Thugs face stuck into her mind. Afterwards Maximo approached her and kneels down, "Amber?" he asked. Amber nodded her head, happy to see someone she actually got along with. "I-It's been so long, Max!" she said. Maximo would nod and stand, pointing back to the city, "You should head back. You deserve more than this." he mumbled as he turned around and searched the corpses. "I-I'm not going to marry into the Sanders family! I refuse to and you can't take me back to them! Please act like you didn't see me.. Since you work for them I'd really-" she said, trying to persuade Maximo before he interrupted her. "I don't work for them." he said in spite.
Amber sighed and got up "I.. I won't ask why, but I'm glad to see you. We should go..?" she asked. Maximo replied, "I have a small camp in the woods a few hours away" and started walking off. Amber would follow him back and make small talk, catching up with what's happened over the years since they had last seen each other. After a while they reached his camp. A small fire hand burned out and was nothing but a small collection of warm ashes.
Maximo created a fire yet again, and offered Amber his chair. "Not much, but it'll work-" He started to say as he stood up, drawing his sword. Amber would look at him, scared the thought of 'Did he bring me out here to kill me too?' "Who goes there!?" Maximo calls out and an elvish man would appear wielding a staff some tattered brown robes. Behind him would be a few animals, the most notable being a large brown bear that moves to his right before looking up to him and sitting down, turning its gaze to Maximo and Amber.
"It's not everyday you find someone walking through your forest with... Potential." the man would say slowly. "Put away your sword, Boy. I have not come to hurt you." he says, stepping forward closer to Amber and Maximo and sitting on a log near the fire. The animals would follow him and stay near him as he sat, the bear now resting its head in the mans lap.
He points to Amber, "You.. Yes, You have potential.." he says.
