Ki Damage sucks, I came up with a nice idea, I think, as to what could be done with it.
Rename it Ki Strike or whatever, instead of doing max damage that's kinda wonky and don't really apply to half the things, have it treat your next attack as a melee touch attack, to represent your freaking mastery of the weapon you use.
Reduce the amount of time you can use it per day if its OP and uh, yeah, I guess its good to go.

And yet weaponmaster continues to be a popular class and a benchmark for monster stats.
Do they really struggle?

Would it matter much? WM attack as they are land most of time, and where they do not - use EW. If it would max damage on crits too that would be nice but hardly possible to implement. If it would make it automatic crit (even if changed to 1 per 5-10 WM levels) it would be overkill to anything non immune. I reckon WMs are good enough as they are.

Sounds like more of a nerf than a boon. If it gets changed to melee touch attack, so will the critical multiplier and threat range (20 x2). There would be no easy way to program around that I reckon.

Ki damage would be much cooler if it had infinite uses on a 30 second cooldown. It would actually be weaker then it is now but overall more enjoyable and impactful on gameplay. That said, there's dozens of classes that need attention FAR before weapon master and people need less reasons to play weapon master, not more.

ki damage does max weapon damage likes its suppose to, just doesnt apply to crits or extra damage
WMs are not in a hard spot tho so its doubtful it will get touched, tho the unlimited use with cooldown isnt a bad idea, people might actually use it more then
