I keep getting this as I download the server

If that doesn't help, please let us know and we can upload these specific haks for you. They're Paul's new faces, but they're not hooked into the autodownloader yet. Duster will be fixing it once they are home from their trip. But a temp fix is to manually download them for immediate play.

I tried this, I downloaded thirteen of them to my hak folder but it still gave me the missing hak file message.

Are the hak folders still in zip or rar format? You'll need to unzip them.

Take them out of their folders too. Just put them in the "hak" folder all in one big blob.





I'm not sure if this is an issue either but my last computer had two locations for Nwn2 files, one in My Documents and one in Program Files. I believe the .hak files need to be in the Program Files "hak" folder.

Example: E:\Program Files (x86)\Atari\hak

They weren't zipped, and they were in my documents folder. I moved them to the program files folder, I had to create a folder I called "hak" and moved them to there. The autodownloader is restarting. Hopefully this will work now.

CC goes into the %USERPROFILE%\Neverwinter Nights 2\ directory, not the install path that copies over the legacy tree.

The autodownloader restarting is due to the content now no longer being evaluated in the aformentioned directory.

And it didn't work. Any other suggestions?

I'm sorry that you're having so many problems.

its 2am here in Chicago and I need to get up early, but I wanted to try to help.

normally, if you have the latest patched version of nwn2, the files you need for our server should be autodownloaded when you connect

but you're having problems... so it could be a few things...

1) your nwn2 could be an unpatched installation from a cd.

the latest version is 1.23. if your version is older, you will need to find the patches

many people use the "Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete" from gog.com, which is already patched.


2) the bgtscc server files need to be put into the appropriate sub folders of your Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2/ folder

it won't do any good to put them in the nwn2 program folder, and it may likely confuse the program

so it should go into the suvfolders of something like

C:\users\shannon\Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete\

.\hak
.\mod

etc...


basically, put the server files into directories that match their extension. so the files ending in .hak go into the

C:\users\shannon\Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete\hak

....

Most of these can likely be unaffiliated with the module. From what I recall when Luna and I went over them, they caused conflicts with the server due to other .HAKs containing the same files.

(Those HAKs were originally made to prevent bloating the size of BG_FaceHair.Hak)

You likely can remove some of them to prevent a larger server download and it shouldn't affect anything. (Obviously, this should be tested first.)

None of the haks listed on the thread are the ones I am missing

I think the Pi stands for Paul Imposteur and it is the custom faces? Which I love, so dont mistake this as complaining. Is there anyway I could just get those haks and toss them in the eternal pit of NWN2 folder?

I have a pack of the haks I was missing, if anyone needs them toss me a PM.
