Born in a small fishing village of Takeo, Kozakura. Yamada spent most of his day assisting his father on the family fishing boat. In his early years Yamada fell in love with a beautiful woman named Akiyama, Honoka and with in the year married. Two years later Yamada was summoned by the Emperor to join the war, at which time Yamada excelled with many of the tools and weapon he was trained in. His true talent with the sword quickly shot him up the ranks, combined with his wit and skill he landed a position as General within 10 years. The war continued on for another 7 year before Tatsuo, his son, joined the war.
Yamada was to later sent on a mission with his platoon to destory a bridge that allowed for the enemy to move supplies and troops, and move to capture the fort. Doing so would cripple the enemy, Yamada would be promoted to Shôya of his homeland so he could be with his wife. Shortly before setting out on the mission Yamada was informed that his son has passes in combat, his son was only 20 year old. Yamada completed the first half of the mission destroying the bridge, and with such retired before completing his mission. This did bring some shame to him but the feats of his past and partial completion of his last mission the Shogun deemed the reason for his leave was justified.
Returning home, Yamada learns his wife is on her death bed, the cause an unknown poison from dark agents. Two years after her passing Yamada leaves his past, and his name, to heads westwards in hopes to open own Tea shop under his new name Yamada, Takeo.

His wife was murdered, the killer is still on the lose and possibly trying to kill Yamada.
While they say His son was killed in the war, It is unknown the exact reason for death, he could have been assassinated as well.
His Goal is to have his own tea shop.
He may or may not take on a student to train.
While Yamada does keep to himself mostly, He keeps to his Vow and will fight evil where ever it may stand.
