Next Feats: Wizard Build

Hi all!

I had a thread before but it was inadvertently deleted. I'm looking for advice on the next feats to take because next time the option pops up I have no idea what to choose.

The current build is: Wizard 4, Bard 1, Stormsinger 5 (wizard), Frost Mage 2 (Wizard)


These are the current feats I've chosen:

Spell Penetration
Acid Splatter (Super useful in leveling)
Extend Spell
Maximize Spell
Practiced Spellcaster (Wizard ) - since I know I'm going to have to take at least two more levels of bard eventually

I've been considering taking the Thunder Clap feat so that at later levels I'll have another spam attack with a lesser chance of being resisted. Beyond that I dunno. I know there are some nice Epic feat spells, but I still need to get to epic levels first.

Any advice?

(Might be to late for this one as I think its a char creation feat)

Having ONE reserve feat is bad enough...don't saddle yourself with another.

Taking Frost Mage without Arcane Scholar for Improved Empower Spell is gutting your build: you deprive yourself of your unresistable Empowered Polar Ray.

My suggestion would be to take at least 5 lvls of Arcane Scholar, which will give you all the metamagic you need save for Extend (and Empower which is required for the class anyway).

Then, take Improved Critical: Ranged Touch Attack, to make the Orbs of Cold (and lesser ones), the Ice Darts and Polar Rays truly deadly.

Stormsinger and Frost Mage don't synergize well. I would advise picking one or the other, and then adding ASoC as I mentioned. Sweet spots are ASoC 5-7-10: take your pick.

If you are dead set on your current set-up, pick as many metamagic feats as you can, and absolutely do NOT get another reserve feat: they do nothing to help the team, and they are, quite frankly, terrible :) (Pure Wizards and in general classes with feats to throw away would be fine taking one for flavor...but there's no mechanical reason to do so).
