Damage
I've never actually had a NWN1 or NWN2 character at level 30 so I don't know how much damage a respectable DPS build should be doing per attack/round. I've been making test builds in JEGs and wacking the target dummy, but honestly without a basis for comparison I have no idea if what I've come up with is good or not.
Can anyone tell me what I should expect per round/successful hit for a decent damage inflicting build at level 30?
Touch Attacks
On a side note, does a single touch attack or ranged touch attack count as all of your actions available for a single round, or do you get the same number of TA/RTAs as you would have if you were fighting unarmed or with a weapon?

Re: How Much Damage at Level 30?
Damage is dependant on a lot of factors... A great sword wielding raging FB is going to hit hard 6 times per round, 100+ per hit in some cases. A TWF sneak attack char on the other hand has more attacks round, but their big hits will happen in the first flurry (4-5 attacks). They could be getting 16d6 (~50 dmg) from SA alone.
DPS in this game is very dependant on situation, crit, power attacking and so many other factors.
You only get one RTA or TA per round so far as I know.

I assume you are talking about your arcane sneak toon. Although I've never played one, I've always heard of arcane sneaks being referred to as a utility toon. They can do a little of everything, not really a strong DPS class.
With that being said, with your sneak dice and spells, you should be fine in any reasonable party. You may not be soloing the epic bosses with ease, but you pretty much need to powerbuild for that.
As an arcane sneak, you can rely on others in the party for DPS and add your buffs/crowd control spells to help. IN a pinch you can throw some orbs from stealth for good sneak damage too, though.

I say try for 40 DMG per hit, against 75% of mobs types.
For RTAs or Arcane/Divine hits, an average of 100 DMG, since it's 1 per round.

You may do up to two RTAs per round if you use Quicken metamagic on level 1-5 touch spells. These may also be empowered level 1 orbs if you have ASoC improved empower spell (min level 5 ASoC) and Auto-Quicken II. Often, however, a single empowered or maximised touch attack spell will do more damage than two quickened ones, though.

Hmmm I guess my tests weren't too bad then considering that the abilities I was using were unlimited casts per day. I was getting an average of 86 damage per TA/RTA without fancy daggers on a Daggerspell Mage in JEGs.Steve wrote:I say try for 40 DMG per hit, against 75% of mobs types.

Just talking about damage, to me, always seems like a poor way to go. There is a balancing act you have to do between damage and survivability. If you have more of one, you can have less of the other. If you are so tanky that every mob on the server has to roll a 20 to hit you, but you kill them so slowly that they get plenty of chances to roll said 20, you will still die. If you kill them so fast that they only ever get one or two attacks, but those one or two attacks almost always hit, then you are still going to die.

Re: How Much Damage at Level 30?
It's not really a good question to ask PJ, as Boddyknock says. A better one is, how long can you survive?
The less defences you have, the more damage output you need. My dwarven defender comes in at 28 damage per hit, with an epic dwarven waraxe that few possess, and he can steamroll the PvM content because he can take so much punishment. Other dwarven defenders can get by on like 24 damage per hit, and some dragon druids even manage with something like that.
If you've a lot of attacks, like dualwielders, you can get by with even less. It's dependent on the build. Some even do like 10 damage per hit, but have circumstantial damage bonuses like sneak or death attack to add to it.
But that might not be helping you if you've a specific build in mind that you want to keep secret. If so, some rough guidelines in hovering around 15-20 at least for perfect twoweapon fighting builds, 25-30 at least for weapon+shield or just one-handed weapon and 45 per hit at least for twohanders IMO
