Palace District: Heavy damage to the district, save for the palace and a few mansions.
East Gate District: Some damage to the district, particularly around Maltz store.
Docks District: Light damage to the district, mostly the cleaning of undead bodies away from the street.
- [The day before] Two adventurer groups went out looking for civilians among the farmlands just a few hours prior to the main undead army's inevitable arrival. They both succeded in bringing back a few peasants, which much death and sorrow experienced.
- [The day before] Another adventurer group sought out the undead army to scout it out, managing to hide as they saw the army split in two...likely to fully envelop the city.
- [First day] Full assault on the northern wall. Big lumbering plague beasts approached the walls slowly, while a massive flock of Pestskulls attacked the defenders. As the beasts reached the walls, they formed a bridge from which the ground troops could move up on top. The battle was fierce, all the catapults destroyed and a lone tower collapsed. Two points along the walls was heavily damaged, thanks to arcane adventurers aiding the defence, and many are dead. Still, the line held, and the undead withdrew to within 2 miles of the walls.
- [First day] Full assault on the Eastern wall. Three big lumbering plague beasts approached the walls slowly, while a massive flock of Pestskulls attacked the defenders. As the beasts reached the walls, they formed a bridge from which the ground troops could move up on top. The battle was fierce, all the catapults destroyed and a lone tower collapsed. The wall also took extensive damage, some of it putting sections at risk. The way the tower collapsed was notable, as it was the plague beasts doing, joining together to fire out a massive ball of filth and goo, that mixed with the torches and the lit up grease caused a big explosion on sight. The line held, but it was a hard-fought stand-off.
- [First day] Full assault on the Western wall. All catapults destroyed, but a valiant defence of them. It was only through the appearance of an Angel of Decay, Insen, that the catapults were finally taken down as most defenders focused on the plague beasts all gathering at the center for a massive assault on the third wave. A big section of the southern section was torn off by adventurers, but the undead that poured in were dealt with eventually. The towers stand, and so too does the western wall.
- [Second day] Second assault on the Northern wall. All catapults destroyed, only two towers remaining and two sections of the wall heavily damaged. The defenders held out against the odds, but the appearance of Magmire and her pet, the Great Pox, caused one of the flanks to collapse and the undead flowed over the walls and pushed the defenders back in a fierce struggle. The last tower was smashed asunder by the Great Pox, and a single narrow opening allowed the undead to flood into the city. So far, the defenders are holding firm at this breach point, but the undead never tire.
- [Second day] Second assault on the Eastern wall. Despite having had some damage to the walls, and a tower fallen, the defenders held out. Curiously, the Pestskull clouds where moving off to the west, leaving the defenders to face 3 plague beasts. The undead kept charging, and the militia fought back together with two Thayan golems. Using a strategic move, two behemoths launched an assault at the north, and one at the south, then moved to make two in the south, one in the north. This nearly overwhelmed the defenders, but one of the plague behemoths got stuck in an explosion that tore off the wall, and fell. With an open gap, the undead poured in, and the Pestskull cloud returned to assault the city with Angel of Decay Rakdor at its point. A frenzied defence sought the undead fall back, Rakdor screaming to the sky as he departed, injured. The lines held.
- [Second day] Second assault on the Western wall. Without the heavy artillery, and a heavily damaged section in the south, the wall would face a tough challenge. Thankfully, all the towers were intact before the assault, something that helped immensely. The battle was grim and hard fought, each wave taking down a tower. Eventually, the south and center collapsed, and the undead began rolling up the line. In the north, their backs agains the last tower and the last remaining part of the wall, the defenders desperately fought on. Men died all around them. The three plague behemoths marched up right to the northern part of the wall, and began unloading more and more undead minions. Pestskulls swarmed the sky, and the Angel of Decay Insen wrecked havoc wherever he went. Despite all odds however, the behemoths were driven off, as was the Angel, and the defenders emerged bloodied but victorious. It was a bloodbath.
- [Second day] The catapults are being repaired on the eastern wall, and will be ready to be deployed there once more soon. The undead are pushing in from the north, with flyers flying into the city at will. The ground troops are still held at bay. A madman is found in the sewers. The army of the New Dawn have yet to engage in anything but skirmishes, but are preparing to cross the Chionthar bridge shortly in full force. Meanwhile, far away in the Reaching Woods, something is happening...
- [Third day] Using two rather large sunstones, and mounting them on a Gnomish machine, the defenders on the eastern wall are prepared to fortify their defences. The assault continues towards the gate, and to get the machines ready the two gnome engineers needed to be protected at all costs from the Pestskull flocks attacking them. Eight adventurers manned the twin towers, and protected them, cautious not to disturb them for the fear of the machines blowing up and killing them all! As soon as they managed to clear it, they saw a behemoth marching towards them intent on smashing the towers asunder. The sunstone machines were fired, exhausting most of its power, stunning and injuring the behemoth. The adventurers rushed down through the gates to finish it off before the undead hordes could get near them, and pulled it off. It was real close!
- [Third day] The northern defence falls. The defenders fought valiantly, often alone and isolated, and the undead pushed through. Magmire herself led the assault, and was badly wounded and withdrew. Her pet, the Great Pox, was left to run rampant in the city together with hordes of undead and the Angel of Decay Rakdor. Soon, houses were being invaded all over the palace district...
- [Third day] Fighting in the Palace District. With Duke Eltan tied up coordinating the Flaming Fist response to the set back, Dukes Entar, Liia and Belt enter the fighting directly at the head of the palace guards. Each powerful adventurers in their own right, and outfitted with powerful magics, the three Dukes rally the defence long enough to cordon off a section of the district and buy time for many to escape. Its clear though that their efforts have only brought a brief reprieve, and as more undead enter the city, a desperate battle on the streets is imminent.
- [Third day] In the midst of the assault of the Palace District, where the defenders are scattered and isolated, another group of individuals set out with one goal in mind: Slaying the Great Pox. After a long battle throughout the night, they remain victorious as Khazark Kahanak finishes off the beast after a daring team effort, but the undead keep flooding in with alarming numbers. Several Flaming Fist were mysteriously killed behind fortified positions. Chaos and bloodshed still reigns supreme in the Palace District, but one less enemy now plagues it.
- [Third day] The western wall faces a brutal assault by the undead army, with Angel of Decay Insen at its point. They force the defenders off the walls when defending adventurers destroy large parts of the wall and the sole remaining guard tower, and into the Dock's District. There, a fierce struggle ensues with the undead pushing the defenders deeper and deeper in. The tide turns when Insen is slain by Aelcar Lightbringer and Mendel, and the defenders rally once more and slowly grind the undead back to the walls and over it. A bloody victory, but the walls remains in the city's hands.
- [Third day] The army of the new dawn has engaged the undead army's flank, halting the influx of undead to the Palace District. The reprieve is much appreciated, but it's uncertain if the army will hold on.
- [Third day] A rumor spreads that a small group of Baldurians, mostly of older age, but one in his twenties, sickened by war and suffering, immigrate east via smuggler boat to the eastern Western Heartlands, after a stranger, some say to be a retired Zhentarim merchant turned sailor, talks them into exploring Corm Orp and Darkhold as alternative superior places to live to crisis-stricken and chaotic Baldur's Gate, their conversations taking place in the chaotic and temporarily guard-abandoned Docks District.
- [Third day] The wells and standpipes of the city dry up in mysterious circumstances.
- [Fourth day] At the crack of dawn, the ships Dragonwing, captained by Desrah, and Whistling Wanderess, captained by Hoiha, make their way into the emptied and chaotic Docks District harbor, rumored to be returning from Waterdeep on an urgent supply mission financed by the Church of Ilmater, syndicated by the Sword Coast Commercial Exchange, and additionally organized at the request of the War Council by the Hoarite Koryeneer and the Everwatch member Reine. It is rumored that a day or two behind that a slower Waterdeep ship troop convoy escorted by 8 Waterdeep City Navy Raker warships manned by 400 Waterdeep City Navy sailors (300) and marines (100), along with 300 more Waterdeep City Guard is also on its way on orders from the Lords' Alliance High Command and at the request of the War Council and Grand Dukes. The Whistling Wanderess and Dragonwing, unloading about equal sized cargoes, are said to be met by Flaming Fist logistical experts that rapidly unload significant stocks of smaller item supplies from the vessels, valued at hundreds of thousands of gold pieces, and that are quickly taken to the battlefront and are rumored to have an immediate effect on troop morale effectiveness in battle:
* potions and healer’s kits for easily 1 000+ soldiers said to be requested by the Church of Ilmater
* a multitude of healing wands to assist Flaming Fist healers directly and said to be requested by the Church of Ilmater
Other items said to be in the Dragonwing and Whistling Wnaderess cargo are left to go on to Elturel or to remain in Baldur's Gate for war refuges there if the War Council should so decide:
* healing supplies for the refugees of Scornubel currently in Elturel, including disease potions, poison remedy, and other ailments
* new tents and fresh clothing for the refugees of Scornubel currently in Elturel
It is said that Duke Eltan himself personally writes a letter to the War Council thanking the convoy members for the aid to the troops fighting the undead. - [Fourth day]The Angel of Decay Rakdor falls in battle with adventurers defending the Palace District, the elf Celundel Meirva striking the final blow. The dukes take to the streets, but withdraw to the palace after holding a breach point for some time. With Pestskull flocks flying everywhere, the battle is hard fought, but the defenders still hold the line. The death tolls are climbing.
- [Fourth day]The western wall comes under attack again. The undead vastly outnumber the few defenders not called away into the Palace District. Desperate fighting, involving volunteers among the residents of the docks, breaks out across the district, but the bulk of the undead move to assault the Lords Alliance building. Adventurers volunteer to defend the square before it in a desperate holding action. Suddenly the flood of undead become a trickle, and the adventurers purge the city of the Talonite zombies. The reason becomes clear when they reach the walls, a host of forest spirits led by the ghost of the Dragon Ghandiron has assaulted the rear of the undead to the west. Without the Angel of Decay Insen to match the spirit dragon, the undead are caught between adventurers and these new allies and destroyed. The battle now focuses on the Palace District.
- [Fourth day]The undead push the defenders back to the East District, as the Blight enters the field. They move all the way back to the artillery, where everything fire at once, suncannons, artillery and spellcasters and archers, and managed to stun the Blight. Clerics and Paladins rush to take advantage of it, and together manages to banish the Blight, as it seemed too powerful to be destroyed. The tide turns, and the defenders go on an all out assault, and eliminates the undead left in the city. A brave adventuring team spearheads the effort, and pushes thought the hordes to catch Haram, the last remaining Angel of Decay, and destroys him.
