Daggerspell Mage Epic Spell bug

Here's a copy and paste of the JEGs findings that were made by another player (thanks Big J):

Ok, did a bunch of testing, here's my conclusions: -

- Taking 4 non-caster levels means you get NO epic feats at lvl 21.
- Lower epic spells are not available on Dag Mage levels.
- Hellball and Entopic Husk are available when you have the spellcraft (30 + 31)
- Taking an AT/Wiz lvl instead of Dag Mage at 23/25/27/29 does offer the other epic spells.
- May be a JEGS bug, I believe Dag Mage is a really popular class and if bug was in-game loads of people would be screaming about it.

Additional conclusions -

- I woke up early and couldn't get back to sleep, this is what I did to distract myself, I am one sad dude . .
- I really really want to play a Wizard, never played one before. Pure human wizard looks like a right feat beast
- Deathgrowl guessed the problem in an earlier post without doing any testing and didn't get up early just to do some testing, he is much better than me.

Taking the advice of people in the Vampiric Feast not available thread, and opening a new topic. Basically, Epic Spells (excluding Hellball) can not be chosen by Daggerspell mages even if they have Wizard, Arcane Trickester, etc. levels to satisfy the requirements.

Note that this has only been tested and reproduced in JEGs, and we're looking for confirmation as to whether it is broken on the live server.

I will check and see if I can reproduce this bug in the next 24 hours provided someone else on the team does not. I will post the results here and on the QC forum if there is an issue.

Maybe this can be useful, maybe not, but info never hurts. I don't know if this issue happens on the server, but when I was planning a Warlock-DgS build on the builder, it didn't let me choose Vampiric Feast in a DgS level, but yes on a Warlock level.

Sounds like the same issue only you based your DgSM levels on warlock instead of Wizard like me.

I believe quite a few classes are like this.

You have to pick epic spells in many cases on the class level that makes you qualify for them.

Quite annoying but it is what it is.


My character for example should be able to pick any arcane epic spell but she cannot due to her class distribution in the epic levels, even if she does qualify.

Which classes? We should make a list of them here so that if they fix it they can do them all at once.

I know Frost Mage and Stormsinger work properly... or at least in JEGs they do.

It turns out that daggerspell mage does not get epic spells.
