I've a new character in mind, a spirit shaman. Aside from Extend Spell, what do you guys think would be more useful - Maximise or Empower? I'm leaning towards Maximise for Moonbolts and Icestorms but I'm not completely sure. This guy won't be a DC caster ...

There is no right or wrong answer. I always go for empower instead of maximise, mostly for spell management

My Shaman has both, the druid spell selection usually means a few spells far outweigh all the others, so having 4 castings is better than 2 or 3, and they're super flexible in casting.

But, empowered Creeping Doom is probably what makes or breaks it for you as a non DC caster, if you're going maximised regardless

Unfortunately I can only squeeze in 2 metamagic feats and one needs to be extend. What are some good, no save spells that can be empowered or maximised?
