I like it the way it is.. It makes it easier to see on dark maps.

Change your screen brightness / gamma settings.

Cast it on any item you have equipped and it will get turned down in intensity by like half.
Also means that you can simply unequip the item you cast it on when you do not want the light any more. Works for rings, amulets & belts too... basically everything.

lol I changed my brightness years ago due to that dam light spell
