Background: Tormi Talar was left at the steps of the Temple of Torm in Baldur's Gate. Her parents believed she was a blessing and that her life should be dedicated service to Torm. They named her Tormi after Torm and gave her their last name Talar. The Temple of Torm took care of her for the rest of her life.

She took well to the life of the temple. Taking pride in helping those in need. However she always dreamed of the outside world. So she trained as a Monk and Cleric in order to protect and heal those who would need her.

During the undead attack on Baldur's Gate, she healed wounded persons that entered the temple. Following the attack she would get her chance to see the world. While the church and the rest of Baldur's Gate was in repair, Tormi would be told to travel and help those in need.
