Bear Warrior Armor Bug

Quite frequently (~30% of the time) at some point in bear form, my AC drops significantly. These are not small drops either, and they are as high as a reduction in 13 AC. They are not against any particular monster or area, but randomly a visual flash occurs (same flash animation that occurs during shapeshifting) shows, and then you lose massive amounts of AC.
Most of the time, the stat increase to strength, dex, and con remain, but other times these are lost as well.
