Is it worth taking on a high CL Sorcerer?

It's useful for taking down drow. Used it more in lower levels. If you plan in taking Mords you might skip it but i wouldn't.

No it doesnt worth it. You have four lvl4 spells as a sorcerer and waisting one for assay will lesser the effectiveness of your build.

Mords, a must have spell for sorcerer ( counterspelling ) can be used for the same reason if needed. You should keep in mind that mostly you will need assay for pvp reasons since in pve it is not useful. But even in pvp a mords is the better option most of the times

They do, though it's unlikely you'll face anything with more than 41 SR on the server. But since you're gonna be playing a sorcerer, you'll most likely be picking quicken spell up one way or another. Assay can be quickened which can be extremely helpful in a clutch whereas mord's cannot and has a torturously long animation.
