Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

Due to the fact that nwn2 was causing my relatively new video card to crash and burn after a few minutes of play, I decided to clean out all game files and reinstall nwn2.

Here is where the problem arises: Now in my freshly installed game when I try to sign on to my profile via the bioware community login screen and I receive an error message that says this:

'Error: Your CD key is unregistered, please go to http://www.atari.com/us/support/'

This applies to all profiles, and of course my copy is registered through steam.

I assume that I'm probably being an imbecile of some shade. Regardless, does anyone have any constructive advice for me?

You probably need to ensure all three CD keys are recorded correctly in your CDkey text file on your C: drive.

If that doesn't make sense to you, I will try to walk you through it once I'm home from work. If someone else isn't able to assist you first.

I know a few others have had this issue before.

I'm familiar with where nwn2 is located in my steam folder on c:, but I have no idea where to find the 'CD text key'.

To manually check your CD-Key, go to where your copy of Neverwinter Nights 2 was installed and open "nwncdkey.ini." It will look like a txt file, and inside out should just have three lines of numbers, like this:

[CDKEY]
Key1=00000-00000-00000-00000-00000-00000-00000 //This is your base Neverwinter Nights 2 cd-key
Key2=00000-00000-00000-00000-00000-00000-00000 //Mask of the Betrayer key
Key3=00000-00000-00000-00000-00000-00000-00000 //Storm of Zehir key

Don't post your keys here, as they should always be kept private (you can't log on if someone with your keys is also logged on); but check to make sure you have all three in that file, and they're all correct?

You may be able to check what the keys are supposed to be through Steam. I'm not sure, as I don't have a Steam copy of the game. Can someone who does confirm?

I found this file, 'nwncdkey.ini.' in addition to the cd keys within steam and they are identical.

Should this be *shudder* something i contact steam about?
