Just curious to see what the most popular race is for main characters.

What do think about having the poll be more specific about sub-races?

I would do a HOrc, but.. well my post says it all (it's in the same subforum as this one).

My main character is a pretty cool guy. He kills monsters and doesn't afraid of anything.

I am surprised there are so many humans, I expected more planetouched aasimar

That's because everyone playing aasimars are ashamed of themselves and voted human, rightfully so, it's not like they rp being from rashmen or something.

People play Human a lot. For power. If you can build well enough, you realize what free multiclassing for dips abuse, +1 Feat and more skill points (combined with the aforementioned dips) mean for power, especially with the server building rules. Humans are second to none in power, apart from Drow and Duergar (which have way too many attribute points AND spell resistance to be matched by anything else).

Aasimar is powerful, but the truth is, favored class Paladin isn't flexible, and +1 ECL isn't appealing. +2 WIS and +2 CHA are good for certain characters, especially EDM ones. But it's nothing you can't have by min-maxing a Human.

Tieflings are excellent for SD dips,for instance Wizards, second only to Drow. They also make great Monks (especially SD). Their favored class Ro is great to abuse dips. Said that, Humans are straight out better for a lot of character concepts.

If people vote truthfully, you'll see a lot of Humans. Because they're powerful, and in the years, people learned how to build, how the game works, how the server is, and where power lies. They're even easier to RP with respect to just about anything else, so you've got the full package.

People play humans because humans are the most relateable and standard race to pick. While power might factor for some people, humans are always the most common race pick in any setting, stats or no stats.

Most of my mains are humans

Surely people play Humans for a lot of reasons.

When I read above that people play Aasimars (or any other race) for power only, and are ashamed of it and rightfully so (I disagree) therefore they claim they play Humans, then my answer is: Humans are mechanically better than Aasimars for more character types than the contrary.

This feels quite accurate to be honest. I do feel (and this is anecdotal of course) that I have seen more humans and less aasimar in the past year or so
