Background: Kanai Ka'vanth, called Feyborn, was beautiful from birth. A half-elf, his features fell much more on the side of his mother, a moon elf name Silandreda. His skin was pale with a bluish glow to it, and his ears very pointy. His human father was a scholar, but he died very early in Kanai's life, falling ill with a rare disease.

Kanai was taken to live with his mother's people, and was welcomed with good grace if not enthusiasm. His mother soon found a new, elven husband and all but abandoned him. Kanai took up a life of petty crime, stealing small things from his mother's people more for the fun than actually seeking to profit. Soon, even this paled for the young man and he began seeking the solitude of the countryside, and any book of history he could find.

Not having a connection to his living family, he began to dig into the history of his mother's family and soon found that they had descended from a line of elven arcanists. He traced their legacy back and eventually took a solo journey to their ancestral home in a long-empty forest. In that forest he found the sunken remains of an elven settlement, with a solitary stone mage tower still standing proud.

Unable to ignore his curiosity he entered the tower and was accosted by an elven lich, a baelnorn, who still guarded it. He begged for his life, pleading to be allowed to live, that it wa sonly curiosity that brought him in and it turned out that the baelnorn was his 10 times great-grandmother, who had traded her life for undeath to protect and master her Art. She was once of the Eladrin of Arvandor and has fallen in love with a moone lf once on Faerun.

The ancient baelnorn was pleased to meet one of her descendants, no matter how abased the line had become. She told him that he did not have the intelligence to take up her Art, but she used her power to open the channels in him to receive the power of his fey heritage, called on this plane Pact Magic.

Now he seek to master the use of his eldritch powers and learn new ways of using them. Setting off for the wide-world, leaving the emotionally-distant kinsfolk behind, he has stumbled his way to the Sword Coast seeking a new path.

Goals: Find a way to success, to make a man of himself; capable of standing on his own.
