Pleased to meet you all! I am Lomir Galin.

Unread post by Lomir Galin »

After meeting a bunch of new people around Baldur's Gate, I decided it is time to say hello to all! I am Lomir Galin, an elf who was starved for experience and adventure when I was old enough to explore around my elven home in Toril. I was being disobedient toward my father however, who was a very experienced mage. He wanted so badly for me to follow in his footsteps as a caster and I would sneak away often into the woods to practice with a bow that I fletched with the help of a friend. Eventually I couldn't take him anymore and left my village one last time with nothing but my clothes and my bow. I hated that I was being forced to do something I didn't want to pursue and chose to explore the forest instead, ignoring my problems. Being alone made me upset for a while too, but I stuck to the woods anyway. Hiding in the trees and hunting with my bow made me lose track of the depressing memories I had of my village. I traveled further and further away, eventually crafting simple armor from tree bark and slowly developing my fletching skills as I improved my bow and created sharper arrows out of stone. I went on like this for 100 years... I could shoot a wolf between the eyes from 50 feet away after enough time. I then stumbled upon the very breathtaking city of Baldur's Gate. I scouted the area for a while, scanning for danger. I noticed it was attracting all sorts of people... and eventually decided to approach a few to see what I could learn of the area. The welcome I received was warm and very understanding of my unusual past. It was a shock to me at first, and I continued to stick to my comfortable isolation for some time. I only occasionally would ask a stranger for directions or advice. Eventually I found myself in the ruins south of Baldur's Gate and in a moment of desperation asked for the help of a dwarf I encountered who introduced himself as Mully. We explored all of the ruins and he was a great help! I found myself more drawn toward people after that and ended up exploring the same ruins with a man known to me as Azre. He has been by my side several times now and today I went around Baldur's Gate finally to introduce myself to all sorts of people! The magic I have seen now makes me the most curious... Could I learn how to cast such magic? Could I perhaps improve my bow even further with such methods? I know how ironic these thoughts are after having such a falling out with my father... it actually makes me miss him a little bit. I hope to find out and I hope to learn more and laugh more with the wonderful people of Badur's Gate!
