I am a noob, help me.
Hey guys!
I come and go every so often and due to this I have found myself getting confused as to what build I am meant to be using. Currently I am a Rogue (8), Shadow dancer (3) and Whirling Devrish (3). I can not remember what feats I took exactly but I think it was something like Two weapon fighting, weapon Finesse, Improved two Weapon fighting and Improved Critical. Can anyone put a build together to help me salvage this and one that would turn out to be semi decent.
Race:
Strongheart Halfling
Stats:
STR 10
Dex 23
Int 14
Wis 8
Cha 8
All Features:
Charge
Dash
Dodge
Improved critical
Mobility
Spring Attack
Two weapon fighting
Improved Two weapon fighting
Weapon Finesse
Skill Focus Hide
Skill Focus Move Silently
Skill Focus Tumble
Evasion
Hide in plain sight
Improved Uncanny dodge
Shadow Daze
Sneak attack (+5D6)
Summon Shadow
Trap sense (+2)
Trapfinding
Uncanny Dodge
Skills:
Disable Device 11
Hide 27
Listen 14
Lore 16
Move Silently 29
Open Lock 23
Search 10
Spot 15
Tumble 27
Use magic device 16
The feel of the character is meant to be a halfing assassin, he is silent and kills with ease. He has a quirky personality but is not very wise, nor charismatic, but when he moves in for the kill he does so with care and in depth planning.

Do you have a build put together on nwn2db.com?

No, however I have posted all relevant information, as I said I come and go a lot which means I get confused about my build. I have -never- played single player and this is my first ever serious character - i ahve also only ever played on this server.

Secondly, I would raise your wisdom, if not for your own character description.
I would in fact think of RcRing into a Ranger21/Assassin9, or Rogue13/Wilderness Stalker7/Assassin10. That is the build I would foresee fitting your RP. I unfortunately don't have the time today to set something in Nwn2 DB but you really can't go wrong and I am sure that there are plenty of builders whom could set you up with something along those lines. If you so choose of course

Re: I am a noob, help me.
I see my character being more of a dual dagger wielding character, so I am not really feeling either of those builds due to the weapons they use. Re creating is also something I really do not want to do, so I need something that works with what i have.

You realize a Ranger is THE dual wielding character, right? get's all the dual wielding feats for free (if you select that combat style)... Yes, a Ranger makes a great STR based dual wielder since you can gain PTWF without hitting 25 DEX, but you can also be a DEX based Ranger/Assassin and still do ok (in some area's, not all)doctorsimon4 wrote:I am not really feeling either of those builds due to the weapons they use
Regarding your existing build, it is fine, though seems most aimed toward RP vs. ability to 'solo the server'. WD is fantastic for the free skill focus feats, SD grants you HiPS... if you have decent INT you could take 5 levels of Invisible Blade for some AC. I would be absolutely certain you get 10 levels of Rogue minimum, preferably 16 to get Epic Precision and Epic Dodge. Perhaps R16/IB5/SD3/WD6 is something you could try to build arround?

Re: I am a noob, help me.
this one is kinda bugging me but yea IB is something i was thinking of suggesting
however IB is best if he also has bluff skill and feint, which means he would have to pick up combat expertise also, unless you are going only for the AC bonus which then is only a +2 with his INT, +3 with an item which can be debatable if its worth it -- also note that IB requires the levels and the INT to get the bonus, +2 INT with 3 IB is only +2 AC, +5 INT with 3 IB is +3 AC
either way IB is a good class if he can pick it up quick but it also requires he has weapon focus dagger which he doesnt have listed as having so im doubting it, he would have to pick that up at 16 and hope thats all he needed

Re: I am a noob, help me.
Spring attack is something picked up for free from WD, so I think it is only the Improve critical I chose. Tomorrow I will add my skills so you can take a look at them, and perhaps that might give you some more idea's. I had no idea about ranger as I had never touched it, I just assumed Ranger = ranged. But alas due to the amount of time I put into the server re-rolling is not viable, but I shall keep it in mind for future characters.
-1 Bluff, no feint feature, not enough INT and no weapon focus. so it seems IB is off the table due to the fact it would be impossible to have 3 levels in it by 20.

Re: I am a noob, help me.
guild thief might be ok if you are just looking for something that fits your assassin theme, but it requires stealthy and certain skills
if not then just leveling with what you have you might wanna go up to 5 SD for the free defensive roll feat to help with getting epic dodge, WD to 6 for the extra AC and SA dice, then you can have 19 levels of rogue which means rogue feats at 10, 13, 16 and 19
epic dodge needs defensive roll and improved evasion, one you would have from 5 SD and the other from rogue feat
epic precision will be a must with high SA dice, one rogue feat will need to be crippling strike which would give you two others to pick that you like

Re: I am a noob, help me.
From my skills I also think Guild Thief is a little bit out of reach due to having negative ranks in some of the skills needed to unlock it and due to the fact I am missing a feat. Would you mind putting together a build with the SD (5), WD (6) and Rogue (19) for me on nwn2db?

SD (3), WD (8) and Rogue (19) would be a better split.
also gets defensive roll (wd8), 3*skill focus and one more bab.

Doesn't have the skills other than hide/ms/tumble...
This is an example based on BMD's comment to go R19/SD5/WD6, if you're interested. You could of course switch out SD5 for WD 8 instead, just keep in mind if you remove R19 you will lose a feat. For instance going R17/SD3/WD10 would get you a nifty get out of trouble free card (WD gets Ethereal Jaunt at lvl 10 once / day), but you will lose an epic Feat from Rogue 19. This may be worth it, or not...up to you.

Thankyou guys for all of your hard work in helping me get to grips with at least a semi decent build.
