Places/creatures with way too much dispell?

Seeing as the current dispel spread and breach abundance was balanced with the old dispelbug in mind, I think we have way too much dispel going on.

Just going through the field of the dead I was assailed by 3 dispels at once!

The same NPC casting it twice too.

So I thought, could we compile a list of places we feel that have WAY too much dispel for their level?

Last I knew, fields of the dead was around cr 15 and I have 17 cl and got completely stripped naked, save for a select few spells.

I'm fairly sure I have the cl of a character intended for this area and got completely stripped naked.

Please do!

I feel metagamed by NPCs at times. The wards I use have no visual effects on them in their description and all of the creatures know instantly to nail me with three or four dispells.

They never give RP outs either.

Personally, if I was a skeletton mage, I'd always start with a mords whenever I see adventurers, because even if there's no visible spell on them, THEY'RE ALWAYS BUFFED!

:p

Most skeletons in the fields of the dead are CR13 and the lesser minions are slightly less.

Let's talk a bit about the elite lizardfolk cheiftan (who either now, after the updates, has a cast off lesser breach in addition to MOrds, or always did and I never noticed)...

If what I have heard about him is true, and his CL is zero, he should not be able to dispel anything cast by a PC with CL 20 or higher, yet he still got my stuff (CL 23) no problem...

Where did a barbarian even go to learn a ninth lvl spell while skipping the rest? Can I send all my PCs to that same school?

He and the ice giant King went to ulcaster school of wizardry. House "The dwarf hides" and house "Epic lightning trap" Sadly... it burned down after that feud with lord reptile face. So we can't get spell-like abilities with mords anymore for our barbarians. *sadface* . And since house gish just closed... well. Shame shame.

But life goes on! :3

Not for Lord Reptile Face (TM), it won't!!

His kin demands Justice! Justice I say!!!

I don't think the Lizard Chief's CL was zero, btw.

His mord could dispel my CL 30 wizard any day with good rolls, aside from the unavoidable breach effect, so...

nope.

Now that's funny.

The below is 4 Orc Mystics in the same room. I've noticed pretty much all spawns in the orc caves are mystics. At least the ones I ran into.

me too.

i think mages are scary, as they should be.

you should always have potions of shield, mage armor, and barkskin on you if you are going to assail mages.... ..or be an awesome assassin.

But casters SHOULD fear other casters. I mean, what would you memorize if you knew you were going into an area with mages, clerics and bards, who were ALREADY fully buffed. I don't care for stupid AI's. Always open with dispels against adventurers.

doesnt this kindof close the gap with casters vs fighters and such? its really dangerous now to try and solo things as a cleric fs or mage if you run into dispells, making fighters very useful.

taking on balors, pit fiends and other bosses with dispells and mords has never been more dangerous, if you are alone anyways

oh and for areas with dispells in the UD, the lower mines have mages that cast breach, the Netherese ruins also have mages that cast mord. I think Ograhann has breach casters aswell
