Can archmage and master alchemist multi-class together?

I know the archmage's class description doesn't list master alchemist as one of the allowable multi-class options, but that was before the big update.

ICly there doesn't seem to be any conflict, seeing as Archmage is pretty much all about "only multiclass with spellcasting classes, not gish/sneak classes."

We'll need an update from the DMs, I guess!

I know of several such builds in game currently and do know of anything disallowing it.

Archmage can even multiclass with all other classes, if planned correctly.

Isn't there a rule against such?

In the class description... I'd check if server was up but I remember something like

"Archmage may only multiclass with: Wizard, Sorcerer,RWT, Shadow Adept, Blood Magus, ASOC, Frost Mage and palemaster"

(my memory is not exhaustive)

But it doesnt say what happens after the Archmage multiclasses with those PRCs.

I am half joking though. This needs a desicion, but mechanicaly it can be done now, as can many other things at the moment - choose Epic ruin as High Arcana, choose Epic ruin as an FS20 etc.

mechanically druid can multi-class with monk, but as with archmage there is already clear language saying it's a no-no. The description states Archmage can only multiclass with.... It doesn't say after taking archmage the rules are no longer an issue.

We can argue semantics and the class description all day. Druid/monk is a clear no. You should not be able to choose a feat instead of spellcasting progression at BM1 ( and other prcs), or epic spell as an FS20 but it happens for years. Those things are reported, as is the archmage issue, but i guess noone cared enough.

Archmage

WARNING/NOTE: This class can only cross class with the following: Arcane Scholar, Frost Mage, Pale Master, Red Wizard, Harper agent, Blood Magus, Sorcerer, Shadow Adept, Thaumaturgist or Wizard
Uhm, it is known that if you intentionally or unintentionally "break the rules"—remember: ignorance is no excuse!—then you run the risk of having whatever punishment is deemed appropriate by the DMs (which could amount to deleveling, or banning, or whatever).

Just an FYI.

But on another note: oh oh oh!!! Arch Mage Dragonslayer!!! Sign me up!

There is more into this.

Why gimp it? Wizard/bloodmagus/Archmage/SD with 35CL and two epic spells. One free from the Archmage's High Arcana bug/exploit/feature.
