Suggestion: Horus-Re

So obviously, this isn't going to happen any time soon with all the stuff we already have going on, but the more I read about the lore and history of Mulhorand (Liam is Mulhorandi) the more I like the pantheon. And thus, the more I want my paladin to be a paladin of Horus-Re. We already have "Elixers of Horus-Re" in game, so he isn't an unknown god. Can we get him added at one point maybe?
His domains in the wiki are: Good, Law, Sun, Retribution, and Nobility. Favored weapon is "khopesh" (scimitar).
We already have three of those domains (Good, Law, and Sun), and if we borrow one from the local god of vengeance, Hoar (Horus-Re is a vengeance god too), we can add War or Destruction to represent that aspect. Nobility domain (as Horus-Re is also the god of rulership) might be represented by something like knowledge or planning domain (or maybe even trade domain?).
I can't find the post with the updated domain spells etc right now, but...thoughts?
Also, since the domains don't matter for my pally, might it be possible to get DM approval to role-play as a paladin of Horus-Re, despite him not being technically choosable (and thus technically against the RP your Sheet rule)? ((Any DM that wants to weigh in on that question, feel free to PM me so we can leave this thread for discussion of this suggestion))

There is nothing Lore breaking to it, but would probably be classified as 'low priority'. Also, there is the risk of watering down the Paladin / "good" cleric RP as there is already so many gods associated with them (Tyr, Torm, Ilmater, Sune, Helm, Lathander, Red Knight and Hoar unless I am forgetting others). The more gods the less chance of being able to group up and RP others of the same god... Horus-Re seems very interesting based on a quick look at the wiki and would seem too fit in with our timeline for those from Mulhorrand and Thay, at least. So I guess it would depend upon the interest level of others to have something like this in game. The more interest, I suppose the higher the priority (though there is no guarantee there)
The rest is really more a question for DM's... Also, not sure if Horus-Re is (yet another) version of Lathander/Amaunator? It would seem to me Lathander would certainly seem the closest, though based on your description and the wiki he seems to be a mix of Lathander, Tyr and Hoar...

A deity expansion has actually been discussed, which would include Horus-Re and other more exotic gods. Its not certain to go in, though. There is some legwork to do before it does and obviously, things are busy at the moment!
Alas, we would not permit RPing a Mulhorandi pantheon PC at this stage. Double alas, Horus-Re does not create paladins pre Time of Troubles! His clerics must follow Maat which is very similar to the paladin code, but they are clerics, not paladins.
Re the question on Horus-Re: Horus-Re is not Lathander; the Mulhorandi pantheon (and the Untheric Pantheon) is distinct from the Faerunian Pantheon (Hoar having made a limited crossover). This is why you have gods which have the same portfolios in each.
Its the different approaches to the same concepts (Death, War, Trade) that make these pantheons interesting to some.

They are being discussed, but they are lower priority I am afraid! But they are being discussed.

Well it's good the discussion is being had. I assumed something like this would be low priority.
Where did you find the reference that states Horus-Re didn't accept paladins til after the Time of Troubles, if you don't mind my curiosity?

I think every source that mentions Horus-Re can allow paladins also mentions that this was only after the TOT. Its certainly in the 2nd Ed deity books (He's in Powers and Pantheons I believe?) and I think its in the 3rd Ed source as well. I think its also in Old Empires

I found the blurb in Powers and Pantheons that pertains to this. It says all paladins in Mulhorand prior to the ToT served Osiris, which is even MORE interesting because in the Mulhorand pantheon Osiris also allows rangers and druids...and is LG. Oh the shenanigans!

Aren't the Mulhorandi/Untheric pantheons the source of most of the Assimar bloodlines in Faerun?

That I cannot tell you, lol. Although since for a long time the Mulhrandi gods literally ruled the lands in the form of avatars it stands to reason. It also stands to reason that should these deities be allowed, that PCs will have met, or at least actually seen, their deity at some point.

I'm not sure they would have met them, but conceivably most would be part of an extended family. Do the Mulhorandi/Untheric gods still walk the planet at the time of the server, or did they disappear somewhere?

Yes they are. Non-Mulan aasimar are very rare for this reason.

Yes they do, in a manner of speaking. Avatars/divine manifestations, at least. This changes with the Time of Troubles.
However they are the rulers of Mulhorand and Unther, countries of many millions, and who act through extensive priesthoods both. PCs who have met the god avatars personally would be in effect nobility and thus not playable without DM permission.
Seeing them in some public event, yes, would be possible.
