1. Are all the different lore fields similar useful to identify lootdrops or is it only lore arcana?
2. Is there a synergy effect implemented or planned ?
http://www.d20srd.org/srd/skills/knowledge.htm

1 - Only Lore: Arcana identifies items. This is not something it does in PNP but its not something we've disabled. Lore: Arcana is the old "Lore" skill renamed, basically.

2 - Not as of now.

Thxs.

Why not use all lore fields for identify ? - So we can have both:
Some RP value for these who get in DM events
and still an useful skill for all those others who don't.

As some PRCs require different lore now and skillpoints are not infinite.

Mainly because while there might be some basis for allowing someone who knows about magic and magical items to recognise a magical suit of armour for what it is, there is no basis for allowing someone who knows a lot about geography to recognise the same.

I think it costs 25gp in some stores to identify items :)

Playing a relatively high str character after years of playing ~10 str scrubs is so refreshing.

Think of it of having all the excitement of not knowing if you have junk or an epic item for all that time!

For what it is worth, I do want us to get the Synergy system in the OP going too. But, this is all a very big work-in-progress. And we are talking about this, Bardic Knowledge, and other related stuff behind the curtain.

Regarding Bardic Knowledge - it will change. So you poor bard* know-it-alls will not by-the-dice know-it-all soon. Yes, another work-in-progress. :geek:

* Full disclosure - I have one too!
