I wish we could the Spellhold on the server why ?well if the Athkatla is add we will have the crowled wizard on and they will come to stop you if you cast Magic in one of the country of Amn the first warning well sound do not even think of magic or use it,get the permission to wield magic inside the border of Amn not? you will be takeing to the small isles in the middle Trackless Sea in a asylum know as Spellhold fore consequences there you will stay on til you power have been lifting from you and in that time we will see if it will be safe enough to releases you

I would love for them to add Amn to the server for people to explore. Revisit all the old places from BG2, have a second major city and potentially a ongoing rivalry between both nations, and be able to hit trade-meet and do some epic shopping. It would be glorious... truly.

That's a lot of work to do, it would require extensive toolset use and new art assets. It may make sense to wait until the BGR team finishes making NWN2:BG2 and simply ask to use their stuff.
It may be easier to go north, creating Neverwinter and Icewind Dale. Still a lot of work though.

We already have a Spellhold area on the server.
And trust me, you don't want to go there.
Yes, it's a DM area. Once you're in there, there is no escape!

Again well first of all you cant explained couse i was asking what do you think of it you dont think i most put the word in you mouth before you could say pull pork and don't patronize me again can i say, and i have the free speech to make any tropic and dont make it sound it something DM Ninox couse any dm can make a area you don't want to go there.

No, but there is a Team that already made Baldur's Gate: Reloaded and is making BG2 Reloaded. I believe that Calantyr was merely commenting it would make more sense to use the areas designed for that single player module, rather than using our developers/area builders time making them from scratch.

Indeed. They are even making a lot of new art assets, such as Athkatla architecture (red brick, gold domes). It may be a bit persumptuous to assume they would let another team use their work after they spent such effort to create it, but it's worth a shot. After all, it'll take the BGtSCC team a long time to duplicate the work that they are already attempting.
On that note, someone already made IWD in the NWN2 engine as well. I haven't played that remake yet though, I couldn't comment on its quality.

I don't know...many developers are happy to share their work so long as they're given credit. Never hurts to ask, in any case...
This said, one issue that is often discussed and applies here is the more areas on the server, the more folks spread out... What would having Amn add to the rp of the server? I think it might take away from the radiant heart RP as some split off to be based in Amn while others stay with the current auxiliary. What about the thieves guild? Would players inclined to play such builds choose instead to create the shadow thieves? I don't think we have enough players to support the many different branches Amn would bring.

no but there is a Thieves Guild and several other clandestine organizations. My point was that the numbers are limited, if you have more areas, more regions the RP pool becomes diluted with too many people spread out in different areas.

So a large area increase would have to come simultaneous with a server upgrade, so more players could be online at once?
I'm not entirely convinced by that. More options are always good, and people can already use the player list to see where others are currently playing. All it does is give more choice, and allow people to 'solo' if they have in-game or OOC reasons to do so.
Would the team be willing to add areas if someone were to make them?
