Need advice on Bug Tracker online service/software

Unread post by Ivan38Rus »

Hey guys, since we have some tech-minded people here, decided to ask for help

As a project lead ages ago, I used to use Mantis server custom-tailored for company standards, which was really helpful for software development and time management.
I went ahead and created free account over at zoho:
https://www.zoho.com/bugtracker/

Here's the list of necessary functions, that free zoho subscription actually lacks:
  • Custom tags/groups for tickets
  • Tickets import via e-mail
Is it possible that there is a free online alternative to this with listed features available?

Hey bud; casually playing again these days and was reading the forums.

Spiceworks and osTicket both work great for my business. I tend to side with self hosted open source free solutions (because I'm a cheep ass). As long as you have a server or a old computer you can consider a server - both are easy to setup and configure. Saves me a ton.

Get into the billing side, Kbilling is the best QB alternative I've seen.

osT / SW aren't packages suited toward development.

You're better off with revision / change control software. Assembla and Git are probably your best options.
