The glowing ball asks "So I'm not sure I understand Tertimus. In almost six years he was not able to unlock any of the puzzle?"
"Not completely, but you see Elias, vital clues are emerging" Replies Tertimus.
Elias emits a vibrant pulse of light for a moment and says " Oh?! You mean the rings?"
Tertimus gives a firm nod and pauses for a moment. After gazing to the sea for a moment he speaks "The ring he found in his northern travels was seemingly insignificant at first, but after finding the second he must have some sort of idea."
"Do you think he knows who Gweniv and Mendle are?" asks Elias.
"I believe his dreams have indeed illuminated much to the nature of the two." Tertimus states firmly while nodding.
A flock of seagulls jealously complain as they attempt to ravage two common fishermen's hard earned catch being hauled onto a dock in the Harbor District of Baldur's Gate.
Nearby a small ruckus is overheard as a man stumbles out of a crate. His grooming long neglected, and torn clothing soiled. His red eyes gaze without a blink at the ground before him as he trips over a few baskets. After regaining his balance he kicks a basket and falls to the damp ground. Sitting still with a slightly defeated look on his face, he uses his hand to wipe a layer of thick, white, foamy froth from the corner of his mouth. Wiping his hand on his shirt he begins to speak in a raspy voice "Well lost child, what now?".
The man sighs to himself and begins to address a near by rat scurrying about for food in the dawn chaos "Yeah the same dream friend".
"Just like before, I'm standing at the tower. She is with me and we're looking down at the keep while holding hands. Our rings touch as we embrace. Then of course the tower disappears, she falls from my grip, and I'm left hanging there in the sky. Just like a big useless star for all to see. Glowing with shame I look down and see all the people I know on the sword coast looking up at me."
His eyes begin to well up with tears as he slowly slumps down onto the basket behind him.
