New Feat: Athkatlan Tripariate

Hey Everyone,

If I am reading this feat correctly, limiting my PTWF Ranger to 3 attacks per round (with the chance of it being 3 attacks per hand, or 6 attacks) should net me 9 Dodge Bonus (or +6 dodge bonus) with +6 Slashing Bonus (to +9 Slashing bonus)?

Is this correct?
How is this feat implemented for TWF?

I have not tested the feat with Two Weapon Fighting, not sure if it works with it. I will test it next time I am in game.

chad, would be great if you also tested this with Monk's flurry of blows. Does it even work for Monk flurry and how?

or tested the Sembian Fencing feat with two weapon fighting syles and monk flurry as well, to get some added perspective.

Sembian Fencing - While the mode can be activated while TWF it does not 'work' in that you don't get any benefit from the lost attacks / round. In addition to this, both of your attacks come from the off hand instead of main hand. Can't say if this is going to be the end state, but as it is now I would consider this style more for single weapon fighting.

EDIT 1: Sembian Fencing does NOT improve as you gain attacks. It is currently applying the flat +2 bonuses regardless if you have 3, 4, 5, etc...attacks / round.

Athkatlan Triparite - Same as Sembian Fencing. It can be activated, but no benefit from TWF. Though in my tests I was seeing only 1 attack / round with single weapon vs. 3 with twf this is a bug since you should be limited to 3 attacks/round, not losing 3 attacks / round. EDIT 2: Note that there appears to be a bug where AT is reducing attacks/round by 3 instead of limiting to 3 attacks / round. For example at BAB 16 w/ 4 attacks / round I was only getting 1 attack with this mode active. So when you have 6 attacks / round it works correctly, but before then it appears to be removing too many attacks.
These feats are available based on your BAB. Sembian Fencing requires BAB of 11, since you would gain no benefit until you have 3 attacks per round. Likewise Triparite is available at BAB of 16.

Still have some tests to run (I didn't forget about Flurry), but this is what I have so far. I have also posted in the QC forums for discussion.

EDIT 3: SF and AT can be activated with Flurry (though Deadly Defense Can not since it requires either CE or Parry mode which is mutually exclusive to Flurry of Blows). However, you do not gain extra bonuses from lost attacks in Flurry. There is still benefit when AT is active since your three attacks are all at your highest BAB when flurry is active, but you are only gaining AC/Damage from the lost attacks you would have without flurry.

I think this is all the testing that was requested. Let me know if there are further questions.

There shouldn't be any difference if using flurry with a kama/quarterstaff vs. fists. However, do take note of what I posted in regards to dual wield if you are trying to dual wield kama's in flurry with Sembian Fencing or Athkatlan Triparite. You do not gain any attacks or additional bonuses for the dual wield attacks.
