All you inactive merchants should be deleted

Or do the right thing and close your shop. Sitting around waiting for that perfect sale does not count as actively selling. You're wasting everyone's time PM'ing you.

why? Trade RP is still a form of RP. If there is an issue with a specific player being unresponsive I would remind it's only a game, but you have the option of ignoring that individuals auction posts in the future. I'm fairly certain I have always respond either via PM on forum post to everyone that has asked about what I post there (but perhaps I inadvertently missed someone). That said I can't speak for every merchant post and you should probably try to handle that on your own, either via PM or sending a tell when you see them in game... Like I said, if someone is completely unresponsive than it is best just to pretend they don't exist since it'll only lead to frustration trying to RP with someone that is not reciprocating.

It's not about any one individual. Half the front page of the auction forums is unresponsive. If you aren't actively trading have the damn common courtesy to close your shop. This post applies doubly to the guild forums.

No one wants to buy Jon Smythe's goods.

What a ridiculous post this is! If someone isn't responding there could be a variety of reasons - probably none of which involve trying to piss people off. This is a game, people get around to it when their RL allows.

Players who play actively, but are not active in the trading forums should not claim "RL" issues when refusing to actively participate.

I fail to see the issue here. They do not respond? Then move on.....it is a video game after all......This is not RL nor is it something that requires people do what some one else wants them to do.

I'd rather have one of those old guild halls that never get used turned into a monster dungeon. Wooo!

Oh my god this! Have the wilds reclaim our server's unused spaces! Good ideas on the forum are rare, but this idea is amazing...

I'll tell you what's actually ridiculous.
The fact that you are fairly active in game but now pretend your merchant is collecting dust because of "RL." What's ridiculous is you're lightning quick to respond to this post while simultaneously ignoring your own merchant RP and likely many PM's. If you could be anymore bias I don't see how.
My merchant isn't collecting dust, in fact he is the ONLY toon I am currently using IG. He's relatively quite on the forums because either a) no one has made me an acceptable offer on my trade-only items or b) all debts have been settled or I havent caught up with buyers IG yet for sale items.
I currently have zero unanswered PM's.
Also, have you ever considered that some people don't respond simply because the offer made is terrible - and I'm not talking about offers from noobs, I'm talking offers from people who've been playing a long time. You know the ones - the players always demanding more, yet never wanting to actually give anything in return.
Anyway, it appears to be an issue with me or someone very much like me. Unlike most however, my main pc is my trader and he is (as you pointed out) pretty active IG. If you want something, put your money where your mouth is and come find me IG.
Anymore mud to sling???

Also, why can't we wait for that perfect sale? And why do we have to be 'actively' (define actively) selling? Do you walk into local antiques stores and demand they close because they aren't 'actively' selling. I and many others refuse to settle for subpar offers, so we wait - as is our right to.

I am locking this thread as the last couple of posts seem too likely to lead this topic down the wasteland of flame wars.
Subject: GENERAL SERVER RULES [MUST READ]
DM Novus wrote:GENERAL SERVER RULES (MUST READ)
Aug - 2014
Baldur's Gate: the Sword Coast Chronicles (BGTSCC) has become one of the largest NWN2 servers around, with a relatively large number of players all sharing the Persistent World, together, as a community. In order to keep things running smoothly and fair for everyone, please be aware of our rules.
Ignorance of the Rules is no excuse for breaking them. It is your responsibility to read and understand them when you play on this server.
The main rule is to be respectful of other Players, and remember that it's just a game. This is the guideline with which to approach all other rules.
– Public Personal Attacks
– If you have a problem with any Player or any DM or are subject to any breaches of the rules by another Player, do not post it publicly on the Forums. Instead, send a PM with linked screenshots (if available) to the DM group via Private Messaging available on this Forum. It is much harder for the DM team to take action without the evidence of screenshots.
Thank you for reading and enjoy gaming on BGTSCC.
