Permanent STR debuff

I appear to have a permanent -1 debuff to my STR that persists after resting and re-logging.

My STR is suppossed to be 17 natural, 18 when wearing my +1 STR gauntlets. However it shows my strength to be 17 with my gauntlets equipped, 16 when they are removed.

Any idea how to fix this?

did you try a potion of lesser restoration? I would try the simplest solution(s) before escalating anyway... If that doesn't work you might check to see if you possibly picked up a cursed item somewhere. If still no luck you might need to bug a DM in game to help take a look at your character.

The only magical effect I had around this time was a potion of Bulls Strength, but after it ran out my abilities were normal. A couple minutes laterI suddenly had the debuff (and there is an icon next to my portrait saying my abilities have decreased), but I have no idea why it hapenned.

Perhaps you have a cursed item on you that you are unaware of that is reducing your str.

No cursed items

Edit: Apparently I *was* cursed, but I never picked up a cursed item. I've never been cursed before so I didn't know how this feature worked (and it didn't notify me in game anywhere). However talking to a priest fixed it.

False alarm I guess!
