As the title says. It's out. I bet you guys will love it. Second edition rules are a headache though!

I've been playing it the last few days. I would say over all it is a very good game. The writing quality is a lot higher than the additional stuff they added to the enhanced editions. Some of the locations are stunning to look at, especially certain dungeons.

On the other hand, there are some notable bugs. Though I'm sure they will be worked on. Nothing that impacts in a game breaking way.

One thing I will say is that I am quite disappointed at the reviewing situation on Steam, GoG and even Beamdog's own forums. There are a lot of negative people leaving ignorant low scored reviews over some minor grudge they have against the game. "The game has bugs, DO NOT BUY this game!!" and similar things. It's ridiculous really. Such hostility will impact on the developers and risk putting them off making similar games in the future.

Look at the user reviews on here. It's like there is an agenda to make the game fail.

Oh wow. A major wave of trolling based on the presence of the LGBT community in the game. There was the same on Fallout 4, Dragon age, Mass effect forums!

I... may have been banned from the Fallout forums due to pretending to be annoyed by the various couple possibilities. lol!

Negative reviews on GoG, mentioning 4th wall breaking jokes mentioning IRL events. I'll skip that. Doesn't sound like what I'd enjoy, also I still remember Divinity: Dragon Commander.

Let's not bring that up ever again :?

I hate Beamdog with passion and considering that D. Gaider worked on this, I wouldn't touch this with a ten foot pole.

P.S.: A lot of reviews on steam speak of poor perfomance, which is the reason for overwhelmingly negative reviews, so, excluding trolling of SJW, I doubt there is no merit for poor reception of this release.

I played it for an hour or two last night and didn't notice any glaring performance issues. There are only a few minor differences that I could say I even noticed, namely the auto-enabled AI, the slightly different graphics, and the HP bar above the characters heads... and the only complaint I have so far is really the level your party starts off at(level 7) if you don't load your final save game from the original campaign, which basically made me want to play through the original again :P

Other than that, the voice-overs seemed good, the story seemed interesting, and the dungeons look cool. I don't get all the hate, and I don't give a crap about whatever it is that the whiners are railing about on metacritic. It basically feels like the same old BG enhanced to me.
There are no level 30's, only level 20's with benefits...

Except it's all minimal fringe stuff in some vague corner of the game, plus the instances are not as various as people claim. Remember BG1 and BG2 had the same thing, even more so. They are solid games even to this day. It's like people believe it's a "new thing".

Precisely. Of course there are some bugs, but the game is completely playable to me. I've had no breaking issues. The troll reviewers on GoG and Steam are out to trash the game due to another agenda.

The best 0/10 review yet for the game...

"My mods stopped working"

*facepalm* Of course they stopped working, mods do that when a game receives a big update. The modders then update their mods to be compatible. The IQ level of the reviewers is disastrously low.

I hate those things unconditionally.

The worst portion in deus Ex, for example, was a moment when I found trollface on someone's computer. Instantly ruins the impression left by the world.

They actually annoy me too, but an avoidable 10 second instance of it won't stop me from playing a top notch 60+ hour game like BG2.
