Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

Difficulty to sleep, to breath. Kamal knew that dream was not a nightmare but a vision. Torm wanted to tell him something. After he told what he saw to the Imam of the Mosque dedicated to Torm. The wise man knew that Torm chosed the young knight for a mission. He advice him to travel to the Sword Coast, there he will surly have a better clue on what he need to do.

Being already an ancient adventurer helped him into reach the Sword Coast easly. But at that time, a Temple of Bhaal lies where now The Friendly Arms Inn welcom the travelers. Much have changed, and Kamal felt a bit lost. But Torm putted on his way a young warrior. Kamal wanted to give him a fine piece of Full Plate instead of selling it. And at his surprise the young warrior reveal itself to be a squire of Torm ! And he could give Kamal in return of his charity, good information on who lead the Order of the Radiant Heart and what happen to the Stronghold.

With horror, Kamal discover that it was burned to the ground after the war against the undead. And knew at that time, what his duty was. He will help rebuild the Order, but first, he need to put his hand on the knights that survive the battle. . .

Sigma, he is a young follower of Ilmater that gave to Kamal information about the famous names here on the Sword Coast. Sir Gaervin, Sir Arkaine HalfOrcken those names tend to come back as he asked other peoples on the lost knights of the Radiant Heart. Kamal decided to track them down.

Eager to seek out one of these knights, he did not expect they find him first. On the main alley of Baldur's Gate, a massiv half-orc stepped infront of the Zakharite. Nearly shadowing the sun, Kamal look upon the sky and the Half Orc spoke :

"What do you want ?"

Kamal introduce himself, and said the purpose of his venue on the Sword Coast. But the Half Orc insist into talking inside the Temple of Torm. After a short walk, they finally reach their destination, and started talking under the vigilance of the Statue of Torm, about the Radiant Heart, how it was destroyed, and a way to rebuild it.

At first abrupt, and talking with a strong tone, the Half orc started to be more calm as he heard the idea of Kamal. Infact an alliance with the Order of Torm lied far east can be profitable for both Auxilliary. It is there under Torm watch, the two man shake their hand, in friendship for a better future to the Brotherhood and the followers. . .

A brilliant idea ! Opening a link via a portal, between Medinate el Salaam and Baldur's Gate so the knights under the order of Kamal can come and help rebuild the Order. Though even if Arkaine loved it, he need to ask the permission of the Dukes and his fellow knights. He gave rendez vous to Kamal in two weeks for a gathering, a condition that Kamal accepted.

But two weeks, it is long. So Kamal decided to start gathering money here, on the Sword Coast. He heard many tales about lost ruins and dungeons. He is sure that if he join a group of locals adventurers, it will be a simple task to loot the treasures. . .

On his way to Durgal Tower, he found 3 locals adventurers. Felix, Pascal Damien and Noela Opia, a girl that for some reason followed Pascal from the Friendly Arms Inn, something that Kamal didnt want to know the reason. Together they could slew the Black Dragon that live in that tower, a feat that improved their confident, and they agree to go further and Descent to the Underdark. What could possibly be stronger than a dragon anyway ?

Reaching the third levels, the paladin heard story about those portal, and with some time he could find the correct path. But after few hesitation, Noela lose patience and rushed into the wrong portal before Kamal could warn her, Felix the warrior followed her just after. Only Pascal the healer had enough will to control his emotion and stayed with the knight of Torm. Here Kamal had two choice, following the sorcerer in the wrong way risking the Healer life and his own. Or continue, reaching the underdark where they can rest, and gather their strengh to come back and save the lost souls. Kamal chosed the second option. Together with the healer, they could reach the underdark, toke some rest at the Drow city under disguise, and mark a rune for Noela to use as location to Teleport.

With fear in their heart none the less, they enter anyway in the ruins to rescue their comerade. In the way Kamal lost his fellow Healer. He knew such thing would happen. But he had to continue and look for Felix and Noela. As he find them, they where completly dazed, like they are not aware of their situation. Arguing with him about what to do. He finally could convice the sorcerer to teleport, she failed. He toke the rune, and her scrolls to try, but he fail also. Beshaba had them between her arms. . .

He gave again the rune and the scrolls to Noela to try again, as she failed and her protection agains the fire fade away. She start to burn completly. Kamal look at Felix and they decided to go back from where they came on foot praying that they will not find a strong enemy on the way out. But Beshaba didnt say her last word, and they found a Magma Golem. With two punch, he killed Noela turning her in a pile of ashes. The warrior Felix, have done his best but he also died in the battle. Kamal knew he could not beat the Golem, so he call upon Torm help, and the God of Duty answer the call of his Favored Soul despite Beshaba plans. Unseen, he could grab Felix and Noela and take them out.

At Guykillin village, Kamal call upon Torm mercy to resurect the fallen. After few time, they could gather their mind. And the first thing they have done is blaming Kamal for what happen to them. Kamal refuse to take the responsability of their failure. They had to be disciplined and follow the order, not running like childs everywhere. But it was useless to argue with them, Kamal start to regret his rescue, he could just let them rot in the furnase. He then ask for his rune, but Noela refuse to give him, telling that it will pay back what she use to survive.

Furious about that thievery and their lack of gratitude, the Paladin left the two adventurers and walk away from the room. Tired and with the feeling that he lost his time nursing losers, the paladin start to travel to the North. . .



Kamal dragin out, alone from the Underdark, the dead bodies of Felix and Noela Opia

The Friendly Arms Inn, what a nice name for someone that just experiment a bad adventure. It is there were Kamal found, at his great surprise, Pascal the Healer, the he though he was lost in the Underdark when they wanted to save Felix and Opia. He could went out from the underdark on his own after he call upon the hep of his god (disconnect), or so it seems. . . Anyway Kamal didnt want to know further about that topic as the Healer talk about an orc leader who do ravage in the Sharpwood Forest. They decided to go hunt him down, for the sake of the Flaming Fist mercenary. There they meet a woman, called Terri, who asked them to escort her through the forest to the Elves Dominion.

The paladin heard that name before, it came to his heard when he heard about a rescuing party that went through the Underdark freeing some surfacer slaves. An impressiv feat, that not many people can argue to have accomplish. . . But a question hunt Kamal. Why someone that powerfull, need escort to just pass trough the forest ?

At the arrival, they where welcomed by two people. Xelorian an Archer, and a woman, that Kamal forgot the name. Though she was much than happy to see Terri, because hugs was following just after the two saw each others. But as Kamal was watching that overflow show of happiness, he heard spellcasting behind him.

A Sorcerer, none the less, she was standing on a cliff, and she turned hostile on our two escorter by casting defensiv spells on herself.

It was an Ambush !

Kamal grasp his two handed sword and was ready to fight. Anylising his opponent, they were 4 in total. A sorcerer and an Archer for sure, but he dont know the power of Terri and the other hugger woman. But he was ready ! His plan was all settle, casting a protection agains the spells on himself, than charging the sorcerer first. While Pascal will. . .

When he turn his head toward Pascal, the healer was hold by fear. He was looking to the 4 persons like they were gods. Kamal dislike the lack of courage of the Healer. And cursed the fate that it always putt him with uselless compagnions.

Anyway Kamal was alone, he could not count on Pascal for a backup.

And as he was ready to launch the attack. Terri interver and asked Elly, to stop treathen her escort. Elly, it was the name of that savage wild sorcerer that start the fight before knowing what is happening. Kamal was insulted by that disrespect toward a friendly person who meant no harm. But was more angry angainst Pascal, that in time of need, instead of holding postion and being a solid backup, he just shaked in fear.

Anyway Kamal shealter his weapon, and left the forest with a profond dislike against Terri and her wild friends.

If he ever meet another useless compagnion, he would leave the Sword Coast.

That is what Kamal though deep withing himself after he experiment such lame situations with the Sword Coast adventurers. He need to change his mind, so he decide to travel to Nashkel Mine, he heard that it was guarded by Orog, and a much more danger lie within the lowest levels. He toke the first carriage departing to Amn, feeling that he will be more needed there.

When he arrive, the locals gave him indication on how reach the mine and upon his arrival, he spotted a group of Orog guarding the courtyard. It was too dangerous for him to attack right now. So he decide to hide behind a rock, and wait for the night, there he will have betters oppurtinities. . . Happy of his strategie, he didnt have the time to sit that a woman stormed the Mine screaming the name of her Godess, axe and shield in hands !

Auril, he heard that name before, It was the godess of the Cold and Frost. But what one of her follower do here ? And what she think to accomplish by attacking a hole group of Orog like a mad Troll ?

She will be killed, the paladin didnt have a doubt about that, so he woke up from his hidding spot, and rushed into the battle to help of the woman.

After a bloody fight, she present herself to be Jessie, priestress of Auril. She said that she was sent here by her godess to eradicate the insult that appear under the lowers levels of the mine. It wasnt the first time that she stormed the mine, but the orogs could always shove her away. Kamal wasnt surprise by that, attacking alone and head first a group of, well trained, Orog is never a good idea. . .

So they decided to join forces, and entered the mine. Welcomed by group of duergar, animated Rock and even war dogs. The duo could pass most them, looting their treasure. Is there that Kamal, found in one of the chest, the Glove of Torm. Those items are sometime given to squire from the Order to help them accomplish their duty. He immediatly toke that as a sign of his god, Torm. He sherished that gift, and felt more determine into helping the Order of the Radiant Heart.

After few hours, they finally reached the final room of the mine. As they enter, they have been blind by a flash of light. Blind, it took them time to regain the use of their eyes.and with horror they realise what stood infront of them.

A Balor, on the the most powerfull Devil of the Nine Hells. With a evil grin, he attack our heroes with his harem of succubus. Tearing their armor and flesh apart with his claws, the demon was surprise that our duo didnt flee. And for each hit he give them, they give it back two. Finally, the devil is slain in a last scream of pain. But they new it will not be the last time they will see it. Because the portal behind him is still open. . .
