JORMAX

Jormax, intoxicated in the depravity of evil sorcery.
Jormax was an un-noteworthy male of house Baenre in Menzoberranzan until his emergence above his peers. It came by the revelation of his potential as a mage - not for any academic inclination but for a gifted nature. Jormax could not understand his awareness and sensitivity to the Weave but he found he not need to understand it to be able to take it, shape it and bend it his will.
While wizards labored in tedious study cycle after cycle to comprehend the science of magic and the rhythms and sequences of its substance, Jormax spent his time much more "practically" in the manipulation and destruction of his siblings by the raw and mysterious power itself. By it, he thinned out the competition for the attention of the matrons - even his own mother.
At his request they recommended him to the wizards of Sorcere. The wizards were not unfamiliar with the gift of sorcery - they made room for Jormax to explore his talents at The Tower. He found he was not the only drow so gifted - a humbling experience. However, Jormax was unpleasantly surprised to find he was not esteemed as an equal of these intellectual males. It was there at Sorcere in Menzoberranzan that Jormax learned the difference between the wizard and the sorcerer - a difference that he resents, for it cripples his potential to achieve status, rank and power.
