Just tinkering..

Unread post by tfunke »

Running with an idea Ivan had, regarding a potential nexus that is also an overland map of the surface. It's not official, I'm just seeing what that might look like. Share your thoughts on whether or not you think this might be good or bad...

In this example, I've placed the spawn in location to the server out in the ocean, with an attached Adventure Party hub/ LFG hub off to the side for players to organize an adventure before entering IC.
South of this is a compass room, that has all the relevant conversations that are in the nexus now (RCR, Deity selection, etc), only you would 'talk' to a placard (instead of an NPC), each surrounding the circular room.

The mainland is pretty self explanatory. You would run over to wherever you wished to spawn in to.

You may wonder, well then what would stop Drow running over to the mainland and spawning on the surface? I would make the Spawn in area (OOC area) self contained. You could only exit it via a conversation.. so if you are drow, sorry you wouldn't get access to the surface section of this map.

Adventure Party Hub / LFG Hub -you want to let other players know you would like to party up? Walk here after a server reboot.

Overland Map:
*Brown map notes indicate areas that aren't IG and probably never will be
*Blue map notes are towns that the PC can walk to and spawn in
*Yellow map notes are places of interest (obviously I didn't add them all)
*Red map notes indicate spawn in area locations

This is nothing more than an idea at the moment, so that is why I'm posting this. To get feedback on whether people care enough to think this is a good idea or a bad idea. All perspectives will be considered..
