Gondsman Tinkering does not improve stats

The Gondsman's STR score does not increase on its character sheet, even after I filled up all of its upgrade slots.
I selected "Improve Strength" 14 times, and then clicked "Finish". No change on its sheet.
I notice the feat says "Use this feat to tinker with your Gondsman, in your workshop." Is that what I am doing wrong? Is there a workshop somewhere?
Is the stat increase invisible (ie: not reflected in the Gondsman's character sheet)?
