The server is currently experiencing issues, and some players have reported being deleveled after the last update. The issue is currently being looked into.

Issue may or not be related to quest creatures.

Be sure to get a Screen Shot of any XP losses not associated with a trip to Myrkul.

FWIW, my L2 test PC earned 24Xp for smacking a skeleton.

I also just initiated a ServerVault backup. The one before is 7Apr.

Reiterating what Duster said - please screenshot your losses and then PM them to the DM and ADM teams - it will be much easier and quicker for us to fix any problems then, we can just return the XP

Probably best not to log on until the situation is resolved or this morning's update is rolled back. It sounds like the xp loss can't reliably be avoided as things stand.

Great... if I lose xp or a lv I have no way of screen shotting it as I have no screen shots of my character as he was. Btw... does the loss only occur if you log on at this time or will it be inevitable?

The experience loss message will be the same as when you gain experience from a kill or roleplay. It is just an outragous Experience Points Lost: 346223 type of message.

Aye but what I mean is... will I be safe if I don't log on till the problem is fixed?

Also, weird bug with item ability bonuses not being picked up.

Wizard 6 Eldritch Knight 10 with 16 INT and Ring +2 INT to total 18 INT only had up to level 6 spells in spell book. Should of had up to level 8 of course.

Great so now my stats would go down too...

Unless there is some change, items don't correct for loss of spell levels.
Your spell level is stat-10 without items/potions/etc...

Could it be the ability to cast spells using base stats only and without item enhancements be IG? That would certainly be something!

So here is the deal... Head Developer Talking... not HDMs.

Something is really borked with XP for higher level PCs. I do not know what/why.

I tried reverting to last weekend's Backup then patched up to yesterday, when things were working OK, then only add area and item changes from the update I was trying to push out today. Still no-joy on XP issue.

I will need to spend awhile locally back-patching to figure out what happened, what broke, and correct it with Rasael's help. This will take hours...

I made a ServerVault backup about a half hour after this mess started. I highly suspect we will roll-back to that once the update issue is resolved. Hopefully the few of you who got XP-losses early on have screenshots to share with DM Team to get your lost XP restored.

Meanwhile, we all have RL stuff to do, as do I. Already lost half of my day-off putzing with this. The Server is on/up. I will drop the Player password, but be forewarned - you may loose XP, whatever you do today, maybe tomorrow, will very likely be rolled back.

You seem confused. You can't learn level 8 spells, even if you have them, without a minimum of 18 Int. That is what is being discussed here.
