This is a simple journal, just like any that can be bought from the Shelves in Baldur's Gate. However, the front pages are blank, while it appears that it's being filled from the back. There are unusual characters instead of the standard Common letters. Those that understand Wa-ian recognize them.
Stamped on the cover is a red block mark, identifying the owner as Amano Hime.

I figure that I should start a journal. So much has happened in the months I arrived on the Sword Coast from Wa. Several of the people here are very friendly. I have even made a friend. Rin-san has been a good companion, and she has helped me adjust to the culture.
A few things of note I have to present here. One, the people here do not look down on me as a ronin. In fact, as an adventurer, I am actually respected! Quite different than I would have expected back home.
One major difference is that the Celestial Bureaucracy has little power here. My previous patron Immortal, Chan Cheng, seems to be embodied by the local god Tyr. Very unusual deity, but very Honorable. Heard the story of how he sacrificed his hand to bind a great threat. I think I can achieve great honor following this deity.
Also, while at a campfire, someone mentioned that I enter the service of a deity, like I would have a Lord. That thought intrigued me. How does one serve a deity like a Lord? I will have to explore this further. But, I think that this Tyr may be an honorable Master to serve.
Ah, Rin-san is waking up. More when I can.
