A parchment is added to the message board near the Elfsong tavern, containing a few lines of carefully written words:

"A familiar situation: you're in need of a certain piece of equipment (an enchanted weapon or armour, for example) but it's simply too expensive for you to buy from the merchants.

But there's a solution:

Why not hiring someone who casts around if said weapon (or armour, or amulet . . . ) is perhaps offered somewhere else and significantly cheaper, too . . . why not hiring me?

I'm working on a strict provisional base: you just pay me 5/100 of what you saved from the original price - afterwards.

If I'm not successful there's no fee at all.

The barbarian merchant that sells his wares inside the Palace District has a ring that is enchanted to protect the wearer against magics. He told me he won't sell it for less than 58 bags. At your earliest convenience I require you to see how much lower you can haggle that price down for me. Let me know what he is willing with it for and I will let you know if that is an acceptable price.
