(((Hey, I'm trying to run a player event for UD players, I'm going to do it this weekend but I want to know who wants to attenwhat time works for everyone. Also if you have any ideas or suggestions I'll gladly take them. Must be magic related though)))
There are posters plastered all over Sshamath, they speak of a magic competition hosted by a member of the school of Invocation and Evocation. The posters read..
Greeting citizens and visitors of Sshamath, I Vorn M'lezziir am hosting and funding an entertainment extravaganza! It is a competition of mages of all stripes (including Warlocks). Even priests and druids may compete in some of the competitions. There will be four competitions, each use a different type of spell. There will be two tiers for each competition, Apprentice tier (( levels 1-10)) and Adept ((levels 1-20, although I may allow higher levels as well depending on the turnout, if so there will be a Master tier competition with some gold as a prize))
The contests are as follows
1. The Mind Affection Challange: Two mages face off at a time and may only use non harmful mind affecting spells (unless you're a warlock but killing your opponent is forbidden) on each other until the other is incapacitated. Obviously those immune to mind affecting spells will be unable to compete, those who try to sneak in the competition will be removed and banned from the rest of the event. No scrolls or other magic devices may be used in this competition, failure to follow this will result in your removal from the contest.
2. The Conjuration Challenge: Two mages each summon a creature, No wards or other spells may be cast on the creature. The Two creatures fight to the death and the first summon to die results in a loss. Those using a summon spell with a short duration may recast the spell once if your summon has at least 3/4 of it's health left (Roughly). Multi creature summons may be used if the other is using one. No scrolls or magical objects may be used for summoning and no spells may be cast on your or your opponents summon.
3. The Death Magic Challenge: Two mages must each cast only death magic spells at the other, obviously first to die loses but will be resurrected. No wards may be cast on yourself or the other, nor any non death magic spells/abilities. Those immune to death magic are unable to compete and like before sneaking in with immunity or wards will result in your expulsion/perhaps vaporization.
4. The Shapeshifting competition: My Personal Favorite, two mages must shapeshift into a form and use it's natural abilities to overcome it's opponent. This is a fight to the death or near death, YOU are responsible to bring your own raise dead scroll if there is no priest/priestess there to resurrect you ((Sorry I only have 2)). No, wards or other spells may be cast on you beforehand and all equipment must be removed. ADEPT Druids (in this case above level 12) are unable to compete, but apprentice druids may compete.
Note: If you are a wizard/Sorcerer/warlock or Ranger who cannot shapechange one polymorph self scroll will be provided for you
Each competition has prizes for all competitions and for both Apprentice and Adept competitions. Prizes include scrolls, wands and other magic items! Also A judge position is open as well as a cleric who can raise dead and will pay 1000 gold each, there is only one open position for each.
Anyone can spectate, entry into the competition is free and spectating is free
I hope to see you all there, this event will be talked about for quite some time! It will take place in the Darkwood inn's basement Arena, (unless a better location can be provided).
