Barbarian Clan/Tribe?

I don't think the server has a local barbarian tribe/clan. They exist in Forgotten Realms in many places; "Barbarians were common within several organizations within Faerûn such as Uthgardt warrior traditions of the Silver Marches and Icewind Dale, the primal warriors of the Reghed Glacier, wild tribes of the Chondalwood, Chult, and the famous berserkers of Rashemen and its neighboring regions." Forgotten Realms Wiki, Barbarians.
So would anyone be interested in forming a barbarian/spirit-shaman kinda clan thing? Human and half-orcs mainly, I think. The deity would be Tempus, Grumbar, Silvanus, Malar, or one of those more wild/primal/chaotic/tough gods. Classes that would make sense would probably be Barbarian (duh), druid, bear warrior, fighter, spirit shaman (duh again), rangers, and sorcerers.
We would need:
A chieftain (highest-level member with no magic. Just barbarian and/or fighter and/or ranger. Maybe Bear Warrior.)
A High Shaman (highest-level member with magic. Barbarian, fighter, druid, spirit shaman, sorcerer, ranger)
Ordinary shamans. (other magic members who aren't as high level.)
Ordinary barbarians (anyone else)
It would probably have more distinct ranks, but this is a general overview.
Gaining rank in the tribe/clan would be through ritual combat, probably; the challenge is made by the lower-ranked member, the higher-ranked member can either refuse (and trade stations with the challenger, along with the shame of cowardice) or fight. It goes on to the death or until one yields. If the challenger wins, they trade ranks with the other. If the defender wins, they get all of the challenger's property beyond basic equipment.
If Bear Warriors were to be involved, it could be the Bear Clan or something, and have bear-themed druids with it. I think it would have a certain animal theme with it, but maybe not.
Anyone interested?

Could certainly be fun. I know that a group of players --
the Greyfox Tribe -- did something like this for many months with a lot of success in the "once upon a time." Many of the players who played in that group are still around if you want any pointers or lessons learned from them.

The Greyfox Tribe has been involved in the orphan RP going on in the city, so they have had some activity recently. I think the adopted children temp or perm in to the tribe. You might want to reach out to them and combo your PC in to the tribe. Or hey, make a competing tribe.

Sounds like a real tough barbarian tribe.

There has been a lot of RP in the past like this with the Greyfox tribe, but my understanding is that tribe was more chaotic good than chaotic evil or chaotic neutral.
I currently have a toon called Vudor Thunderclap that is a Talosian barbarian of the Thunderclap tribe, a more CN-CE barbarian tribe -- kind of one of the competing tribes with Greyfox at one point before the Black Orcs killed nearly all the Thunderclaps in a suicide battle the Thunderclaps had with them. I'd be super enthused about rolling with whatever concept you try to go for here with him.
Here you go:

I'd ping kleomenes and Duster47 on any barbarian server lore you are curious about as both of them were huge on the Greyfox RP back in the day.

Arnbjorn, the Bear would be interested. He's a bear warrior who follows The Great Bear In The Sky.
Oh yeah, he likes bears.
Bears.

Is anyone actually interested in doing this? It might work. My opinion is that a nomadic CN-CE tribe worshiping Tempus would be fun. We'd probably just have to hope higher-level barbarians and shamans would join, because a band of 1st-level barbarians and spirit shamans isn't much of a threat to anyone. Once the tribe was tougher, we might even become a problem people remember after the fight.
Joke- has a spoiler for Salvatore's
Crystal Shard
And then a 30th level copy of Wulfgar shows up, kills Icehaup, and takes over the tribe to fight Akar Kessel and his goblinoid armies.
So is the Flaming Bear Clan a good name? I like it. Maybe just Bear. Or maybe not bears at all.
Let's be the Red Wolf Tribe. Or the Golden Cat. Or the Delicious Boar...
...sorry, I'm hungry.

I suggest rather than starting from scratch, you refer to the
Uthgardt Barbarian Tribes who exist north of the BGTSCC playable areas. There are several tribes to choose from with different alignments and background lore though much of what is in the FR link happens in our future time-line. But the basics are there from which to inform your barbarian RP. One thing about Uthgardt in general, is they are not keen on "civilization", with some tribes seeking to actively destroy it. So choose wisely or else you risk being treated no better than an orc, because, well, they are not much differently motivated.
Regarding the
Greyfox Tribe, their
home-brew lore* was influenced by Uthgardt lore. Although no tribe members know for certain, some believe there was a
Gray Wolf influence, perhaps a group who freed themselves of "the curse" and took to following
Shaundakul many generations ago. The Greyfox were almost wiped out by the Black Horde in 1348-1350DR and are now re-populating the remnants of the Tribe at their camp near Secomber. That is why they adopted nine orphans from BG. If you are interested in RPing a wandering GF warrior, read more about them
from links contained in this post.
Whatever you decide to do, keep in mind to make if fun for yourself and support others' enjoyment of BG too.
*
I did not invent the Barbarians of the High Moor, or GF Tribe, but myself and others greatly added to the basics of BHM lore to make the GF what persons remember about them today. The whole barbarian thing was an attempt to get more persons playing more freedom-loving, barbarian-style RP. But in the end, the self-imposed and inherent class limitations within BG's play style made for a really tough time at bashing things, buying supplies, etc.
