There is supposedly a game or match or competition happening somewhere that involves running, falling, kicking, some theater, and end the end, they're all Europeein' in the same Cup.

Just cause your homies are getting spanked at the Copa, doesn't mean you have to bring down the entire Europe, Chambo!!

Yep, I heard something about it. That, plus the elections we have in two weekends, make the process of watching the news a very hard time here in Spain. And I am the type of person who likes both soccer and political debates, but this is a saturation bombing :lol:

You live in Europe, you really can't get away with calling it soccer anymore. It's football.

Lots of one goal victories so far. I've to say that I'm a bit disappointed so far. If I didn't know better at first glance I would think that I'm watching the Youth21 tournament. The games are even sure, but all are slowpaced with the rare glimpses of pace, and the overall passing, finishing or playing quality is down on all the big teams that have played thus far. That's what's making it more even I guess.

France and Germany, the top 2 contenders this year, definitely didn't look very champion-like in their matches.

I think they didn't want to show more. I am sure that will change with the KO matches.

I agree with Karond about the lack of pace in the games so far. The most entertaining time so far, is when i order a new beer when watching the games.

The violence outside the field is a huge put off for me as well.

You are completely right Zanniej. But I got accostumed to call it soccer when american folks are around. I lost track some time ago of the number of times I had explained I was referring to that sport that is only played with the feet (excepting the goalkeeper of course lol) and in which the ball was spherical... :lol:

Alright, fair enough. But since you live in Spain now, where the sport is quite alive, I'd watch using soccer as a term ;-) Just teach all the Americans to call their sport handegg, problem solved! :D

And on topic, I'll start watching tonight. I completely forgot it already started! (The Dutch aren't in it, so it's not as alive here as it was)

Yeah, I really miss the orange fans! The best ones together with the Irish. Still getting goosebumps as they sang at the end of their match against Spain.

Seems like Putin sent his paramilitary to the Euro. What a shame! And to the others too: english, german and ukrainian so far.

France = Talented, Un-equal Distribution
Germany = Slow Pace, Good Distribution/Organization
Spain = Good Distribution, Good Talent

I didn't see Italy v. Belgium, or England play the Paramilitaries but from what I have seen, I like Germany and Spain.

Side note: Ireland played like a contender for one whole half before falling apart under the pressure of Sweden's sudden frantic push to get their point back. I'm still proud of them.

Copa = USA, USA, USA!!! (not saying we have a chance, just rooting intensely for them)
