Ranger Spell Progression

I'm sorry if this question is old hat, but I couldn't find the answer anywhere (perhaps partly because google doesn't help any more since it still refers to the old forum).

When exactly does the Ranger class get how many spells and of which lvl? As far as I know, it has full spell progression on BGTSCC. Doesn't that affect the amount and availability of spells?

Another player once told me that 'you get spells from lvl 4 in the same way FS does', but I hope some of you veterans can be more precise about it...

It is the same as vanilla NWN2. They are considered full caster level for purposes of spell duration and dispels, but still don't gain spells as quickly as full 'caster' classes.

Thanks for the quick response! I suspected as much but hoped against hope after hearing mixed messages.
